If you haven't checked out the Friends of Deer Flat Website in a while you may be surprised how different it looks! Before while it was a very unique custom coded site, it was not ADA compliant nor mobile friendly. I've been able to make some improvements since :)

The Friends support the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge through conservation on the Refuge and in the community.

I'd like to pretend I have a really good insight from the previous year and foresight for the next year but I don't really. I have a 2 hour time lapse sketch idea that didn't record and a skunk sticker concept warning all to hide.

I both want to hide from all the danger and be bold enough to make the danger want to hide. And I suppose those aren't as mutually exclusive as I once thought.

In an alternate universe this would be my entry for category 27 Portraiture in the Western Idaho Fair, Professional division titled: Our Sunshine

Anxiety is hard to fight and sometimes it wins. I didn't enter because at the last minutes, I doubted myself.

It didn't matter that I'd practiced and gone on several photoshoots with this competition in mind since January. When it came time to sign up and pay the fee, I wilted under the anxiety.

I'm trying to recommit to just "taking every shot" I can but it seems inevitably I reach a point where I back down and feel guilty.

Both for entering AND not entering, no matter the outcome, every time I show an art piece begins in this struggle.

Anybody have tips for this? For winning more than wilting? For being gentle with myself when I do back away?

Where have your stickers gone with you? This fox sticker went to a farm with a rockhounds garden. He reportedly didn't eat the chickens.
