We would like to spread the word about the inspiring initiative of Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Team with a Vision! For 30 years, the international team of sighted and blind runners has been raising awareness for MABVI and supporting its vital rehabilitation services for blind and low-vision individuals.

Recently, TWAV members Richard Hunter and his guide/daughter Kiersten Mosbacher completed the 2024 Shamrock’n Half Marathon. Richard, the founder of United In Stride, aims to unite blind and visually impaired runners with sighted guides nationwide: https://www.unitedinstride.com/

By the way, MABVI is seeking volunteers for Team with a Vision to support the 128th Boston Marathon on April 15th. Let’s join to make a difference!

4Blind has completed the program in the Access to Success Organization accelerator, Canada's first accelerator for accessibility startups.

This experience provided us with a unique opportunity to deepen our knowledge, expand our network of contacts, and accelerate the development of our projects. Throughout the program, we engaged in discussions on crucial topics such as inclusive leadership, marketing, fundraising, design, customer acquisition, and co-development. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to practice pitching to a cohort of wonderful experts.

We had the privilege of learning from expert professionals, including Jayesh Singh, founder of Able Innovations; Bruce Johnson, Principal Researcher Accessibility & Inclusive Design at Microsoft; Andrea Palmer, founder of Awake Labs; Idan Mair, co-founder of RightHear; and many others. They not only shared their success stories and valuable experiences but also inspired us with new ideas.

We extend our gratitude to Access to Success Labs for this unique experience, the support, and the opportunity to grow within such a wonderful community. Special thanks to Varun Chandak and Sydney Bokla for their time and careful guidance!

Last week, we participated in two conferences that took place in beautiful, sunny Florida: the FAER Conference and Getting In Touch With Literacy.

As noted by Liz Anderson, FAER President, "FAER provides opportunities to meet and learn from others who are working toward the same goal." The conference successfully served this purpose by bringing together professionals from various locations, providing a platform for the exchange of ideas, sharing findings, numerous stories, and fostering the establishment of new collaborations.

Following the FAER conference, the Getting In Touch With Literacy conference, led by Janie Blome and Cay Holbrook, showcased a diverse range of sessions and technical solutions aimed at supporting visually impaired individuals in their literacy journey.

We were truly inspired by the individuals who gathered at these two wonderful events!
