Would you believe that Amazon plans to deliver your next home appliance without wrapping it in an Amazon box? If you want a toaster or a home good, they will come in a manufacturer’s box without an Amazon box wrapped around it.

To protect the product, user experience and brand, manufacture's will need improve their own packaging for on-line sales so that products will survive shipping and ensure what the customer ordered arrives in good condition.

Paul Metaxatos, one of the founders of Motiv, presented the manufacturing design process to students in the Advanced Manufacturing and Design 3 class at Swampscott High School.

Paul discussed consumer product and packaging design development, engineering for manufacturing processes, and the roles employees play within the field. Students reviewed a case study of Keurig Dr. Pepper and several other successful products developed by Motiv. They engaged with physical models, prototypes and product samples.

We feel this is a great way to give back to the community and encourage students of exciting fields with real world experience.
