For International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating four trailblazing women whose innovations transformed science and technology:
• Jameeka Green Aaron – CISO at Okta and a cybersecurity leader with 25+ years of experience across aerospace, retail, and tech. A U.S. Navy veteran, she’s a champion for diversity in STEM and a trailblazer in securing digital identities.
• Mary Lou Jepsen – A visionary behind One Laptop per Child, Google X, and Openwater, driving breakthroughs in display and medical imaging.
• Dr. Ellen Ochoa – A pioneering astronaut, engineer, and the first Hispanic woman in space. She logged nearly 1,000 hours in orbit and later became the first Latina director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
• Andrea Ghez – A Nobel Prize-winning astrophysicist who provided key evidence for a supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy.
These pioneers broke barriers and paved the way for future generations. Who inspires you? Drop their names in the comments!
