As some of you already know, we at Dojo4 are building a mobile app that we’re calling DeathApp. Yes, for real! It’s a quiz-based death preparation, planning and awareness application. We’re creating a straightforward & engaging way to educate people of all ages and backgrounds about end-of-life options and how to prepare and plan for our own deaths (or that of a friend or family member). We’re excited about the quiz-based format as a way to make it easier for people create a sharable “death preferences plan” and learn more about ways engage with the finite nature each of our lives.
We’re starting by building a prototype we can use to test the concept with our first users. To get there, we’ve decided to raise a community investment round of $100k using Wefunder. It’s a little different than a crowdfunding campaign in that participants are actually investing in the project, rather than donating or pre-paying for the service. This way, our community can be early investors in what we aim to make a revenue-generating company that provides an important service.
