With the severe weather moving through large parts of the country soon, we wanted to send a quick reminder:
If you need to communicate urgent updates to employees, contractors, or visitors, emergency text messaging is already available inside UnDesked and can be used immediately!
Teams commonly use this for:
Weather-related closures or delayed starts
Power, utility, or safety updates
“Do not report / report late” notifications
Shelter-in-place or evacuation instructions
If you haven’t used emergency texting before, don't worry!
We have created a form to collect opt-ins and cell numbers from employees who wish to receive emergency communications.
You can distribute this form via QR Code or a direct link. (We can also add it to any checkpoint, hub or even your lobby visitor kiosk, if you'd like employees to temporarily opt in there.)
Employees will either click the link or scan the QR code with a mobile device and submit the form.
This will automatically add/update them inside UnDesked with no manual work for you.
Text message templates can be set up so the messages are ready if you need them. Toggle the "emergency template" ON for quick access. You can always create and send a message at any time manually. Messages can also be scheduled to send at a specific time.
The admin platform and emergency text system is available through any mobile browser. There is no app to download. Visit app.undesked.com (You will need to enter your username/password.)
Step-by-step instructions, a video tutorial and additional information that may be helpful can be found here: https://undesked.com/blogs/emergency-text-messaging
If you'd like help putting this into action immediately, please put a meeting on your calendar for today and invite [email protected]. We know this storm is actively moving in on several areas of the country and we're here if you need us!
