The earlier a brand starts ethically and transparently collecting, organizing, and acting on customer data and mixing it with its campaign and catalog datasets, the more resilient it can become.

Short term it was cheaper to rent customer data, but long term it's proving out to be highly risky as acquisition costs soar.
