Struggling to get the Open graph share cards to render properly when sharing Verse of the Day or users feed posts externally to other social platforms.
They're being rendered like this, exceeding the width. How this is supposed to work:
Open Graph is like a title card for a link anytime it's shared like I'm doing below for Facebook, LinkedIn, iMessage, etc. instead of the platform guessing what to show, you tell it in the headline, short description, image, and a page it should point to (like on a webpage you host). It's like putting a label on a gift box. Without this, Facebook might show a rando pic or messy text.
The flow:
I create a webpage somewhere on my domain like lmwlabs.faith and put the instructions to create the image I want any time it's called.
The social apps will crawl the page via the link my app creates during the share
Facebook renders the image based on those instructions immediately
If it is tapped by another user, it will direct them to a page I choose which in this case should be a link to either download faithfeed or open faithfeed if you already downloaded it.
Unfortunately, instructing the engine to contain the image within the card has been an issue for our setup and the link 🔗 has broken.
So, next app update will have this fixed😮💨
