“I don’t think I need a website anymore” was a sentiment recently shared by a member of a group I’m in, and I think the entire room was like - WHOA girl, what??!!😱😬
Backstory: this biz owner thought she could cut down on overhead (hosting fees) by sharing a website-like sales/proposal page through a 3rd party app. So instead of directing people to her website, she would direct them here.🤦🏼♀️
I mean, I get it…Times are tough and business owners are looking to cut down on any and all overhead costs.
I really get it. 🤗 I’m right there too.❤️
I get wanting to simplify your website, even starting out small robust one pager or mini website as opposed to a full, multipage site.
This is something I’m exploring more now with clients who very much want and see the value of a website but are just launching their brands and don’t have the budget for a larger website now.
However, a sales page not tied to a real domain offers you very little as far as SEO and as far as getting those new and existing clients the information they are seeking to buy for the first time or be a repeat customer.
The entire strategy behind a website is to have an online hub of info for people to find their answers to - who you are (identify with you), why you do what you do, how they can work with you, and finally how they can get the conversation going with you or ask you questions, so they can book or buy from you.
It also is *hopefully* something that shows up on Google.
And this is my last thought - if your website isn’t working the way you want or hope it would, please, please don’t throw it out. It probably just needs a little TLC or some updated SEO to make it shine!💡👩🏼💻
