It's that time of year again!
Security Check!
Update Passwords
-Using a password manager or frequently updating your passwords are good basic security measures.
-Enabling Two-Factor Authentication, also known as 2FA, is even greater for security. 2FA adds an additional step to the login process that requires the user to obtain a time-sensitive code sent to their mobile π² or email π¨, or allows user to enable Biometric security (fingerprint confirmation) to login in addition to normal username and password.
Avoid Scam Calls/Text/E-Mails
-Definition of Phishing
Phishing is a type of social engineering where an attacker sends a fraudulent (e.g., spoofed, fake, or otherwise deceptive) message designed to trick a person into revealing sensitive information to the attacker or to deploy malicious software on the victimβs infrastructure like ransomware.
-IRS Alerts
It's tax season! So remember that no federal agency, including the IRS, will ever call/text/email you demanding immediate payment or personal information. If the IRS or any federal agency believes that you owe taxes, you will receive written notice mailed to your home.
If you have ever received these fraudulent communications and would like to proactively report them, feel free to do so here:

Remember to keep family, friends and loved ones posted about scams. Conversations could save someone you know from being financially harmed, or worse!
