Lately I've written an entire course on AI for Visual Artists-and building that class has made me realize that photography is far from dead, but will become more valuable as AI generated images dominate our feeds. Don't get me wrong, I think that both mediums have merit and are endlessly fascinating.
This new series is a fictional work about people that don't exist, but presented in a way that is almost convincing. The images feel almost real, but also slightly 'off' as most generated images do when you really look under the veneer. That said, I have loved thinking about people that populate our great country, and creating versions of those people that could indeed exist. Consider it a work of creative fiction, leveraging tools both old and new.
They say that America is a melting pot of cultures. I set out to find America through the people that live in each state, to truly see the kinds of people that live in our great country. What I found was more diverse and inspiring than I could have imagined.
