The Computer Guy

The Computer Guy Confused about what to do with your computer? Don't understand this machine? I can help you! I provide personalized teaching tailored to your needs.

Description: Computer knowledge and handyman work -
I have been in the computer software industry for 36 years. I have helped many people of various ages learn how to navigate their computer's programs and other added software, using Windows PC. If you are new to computers, or just need help with what you are using, give me a call. We can start you from the basics, or help you learn to understand

and use something new. I can also work to figure out "what went wrong!" with software you're already familiar with. I want to help you use your computer successfully! Besides computers, I can help with cell phone boosting, and installing or checking problems with other electronics (TV's, stereos, etc.)! I am also able to make home repairs (doors windows, minor structural repair/improvement); paint the inside and outside of houses (have done several over the years); safely install ceiling fans, light fixtures, and appliances; repair clothes dryers, and small appliances; help with lawn care (mowing, weeding, planting). I have a full time job outside of this business. My work hours begin at 7 AM, M-F, in various parts of the the Austin area. I usually get home around 5 pm, as many of you can identify with - due to Austin traffic. Thus the hours I am available Mon.-Fri.. If you call me and let me know what you need, I can usually work out being available until as late as 8:30 or 9 pm, if a job requires that. If you're not happy with that, there are other people who offer the same services elsewhere. :-) Thanks!

We haven't been keeping up with our page, because we're so doggone busy! But, that's OK! We still have time to visit with you and find out what your needs are.
The "Computer Guy" is still able to help you with computers, but he also has quite the following of people who need handy-man jobs done! Maybe, we should change the name of the page? πŸ€”

Well, we hope you have a meaningful Memorial Day. God bless you, and God bless America as we bless Him!

Hello! I thought I'd catch up on our activities......
-I helped one customer get his new printer to sync up with his computer.
-My son and I hauled some leftover stone and brick to the customer's storage building. (The builder suggested that he keep it for future needs.)
-I fixed some issues with a computer at our church.
-My son and I also took patio furniture out of the boxes, assembled it all, and hauled the packing material away.
---No job is too small ! ---

We hope you're staying warm and well! Spring is just around the corner! πŸ™‚

I wish all of you a Happy New Year! Praying for God to bless and guide you throughout the year in all He brings your way.

Working outside in this cold, rainy weather is a stress on the immune system. I feel for all of you who have jobs that are always outside! My son Daniel is a lineman and is one of those who has to brave the elements.
In mid December, I had to take a couple of days to get through a cold/ virus/ allergies - who knows? - sickness. Fortunately, much of my work recently has been indoors, putting a fresh coat of paint on the gym walls and replacing upholstery on the workout benches at Gold's. As facility manager, I'm also the repair tech, so being able to do a variety of jobs is necessary. πŸ˜‰

It's been a while since posting. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day! πŸ¦ƒ
I have been plenty busy at work with building maintenance and equipment repair - also the leaks that one of the buildings gets from heavy rains like we've had the past few days. πŸŒ§πŸ’¦
I've also been helping a lady get seasonal decorations up, then packed away; and repairing some wall damage.
But, I recently added my services to "Nextdoor", and today, I have 3 home exercise equipment repair appointments! It seems there are several people who want to make sure they can keep up the exercise through the holidays! πŸ˜‰
I hope y'all have a great weekend!

It's been a while since I posted. Guess I've been so busy that I didn't think about it! πŸ˜‰
The past few weeks have been a little busy:
- Trouble shooting problems with computers at church.πŸ’»
- Getting more computers ready to use with the "Kids" program. πŸ’»πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»
- Replacing the motor and belt on a home treadmill. πŸ”§πŸ”©
- Repairing doors at a school so they're ready for all the traffic! πŸšͺ
- Helping with the hanging of a "large" framed painting at a new house (as in "how in the world are we going to hang this thing?") πŸ–ΌοΈ
- And, of course, all the repairs and maintenance at the gym. (Did you know that the temperatures on the top of a concrete building can reach up to 180 degrees in the summer?🌑️It's a little difficult sitting on anything for very long up there!)
- Then there's fixing tile because someone stole something πŸ˜²πŸ˜•; unclogging bathroom pipes 😬 ; and being up to my elbows in machinery grease!
~~~ All in all it's been a good summer with plenty of variety in the various jobs I've had. Thanks for your time in reading these updates, and thank each of you who have passed my name along to a friend! I appreciate my customers! ~~~
Well, it's "Back to School" and back to the routine. Contact me if I can help with a repair that interrupts that routine!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend, but also took time to thank families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Many of my great uncles were in WWII and some of them never returned home. One returned after being tortured and being in a N**i prison camp. He made an impact on people when he spoke at events using his favorite phrase: "Freedom isn't free". Thank you to all who have served our country in any capacity.
We wish all you wonderful ladies out there a Happy Mother's  Day!!
Sometimes some people just need a handy man to come over and check out everything that doesn't seem to be working right in their house. Such was the case of one of the members at Gold's Gym. He asked me one day if I could come look at the lock on his fence gate. He also wondered if the stationary bike at home needed some maintenance. I was able to go over this past Saturday and help this older couple with a few household repair jobs, and hopefully make life a little easier for them! It's a great feeling!
Spring has sprung and we're busy with some exercise equipment repair, rain gutters that need cleaning out, and computer glitches figured out! Also, there's some Ethernet cable to run in a near-by building.
We also have some cabinet adjustments on the horizon. Cabinet doors without k***s can be a little frustrating, but hopefully I can make a notch along the lower edge of the door for more of a grip area. Wish me luck!
I just returned from doing a re-install of a kitchen sink. The sink was an under-counter install but was coming detached over time. By the time I was called, the disposal was being held up by a spray cleaner bottle in the cabinet below! Anyway, after some plumbing, some sanding off of the adhesive, etc., I installed the new sink using supports which were not there before (??!!) and re-connected the plumbing and the disposal. Everything is working just fine!
