To the Vermont Cannabis Community
It’s an exciting time in Vermont! The first retailers are open and more and more product is making it’s what from Green Mountain fields to store shelves every day.
When Trace set its prices we did so in early July. At that time we thought tracking regulations would be out shortly and we’d be a good fit for all the outdoor cultivators and eventually indoor cultivators once they had their operations completed.
Despite the best efforts from the the seed-to-sale tracking database and the tracking regulations are not finalized at a time when many - if not most - outdoor growers have already harvested their crops.
In any new market, one has to prepare for uncertainty. For Trace that uncertainty is about timing which for almost all of us is out of our control.
Given these unforeseen circumstances - we’ve decided like many of you in the - we need to treat this first year in Vermont as a bridge year.
We’ve decided to reduce our pricing for year one. We recognize year one means different things to indoor cultivators than it does outdoor cultivators.
The prices posted here are for everyone regardless of how you grow. That means for outdoor cultivators this will be your price for your 2023 grow season and for indoor cultivators this price will be available to you for your entire first 12 month contract.
It’s not ideal for our company but we also know everyone in Vermont from the smallest growers to largest retailers to the members and staff of the CCB are all making sacrifices as we get this market up and running. We feel given that fact, this is the most appropriate step for us to take.
We are asking that any cultivator who wants to take advantage of these prices please reach out to us no later than December 1, 2022. This will help with our planning as we move forward.
Still no obligation to pay before you start growing next season for outdoor cultivators or in a few months for indoor cultivators.
