West Michigan is positioning itself as a major player in data center and AI infrastructure development. The Right Place recently unveiled its new three-year strategic plan targeting nearly 4,500 new jobs and $700 million in capital investment — with data centers and AI as a key focus.
Microsoft has also signaled interest in building data centers in the region, underscoring the area’s growing appeal for tech infrastructure investment.
With 1,300 tech jobs added in 2025 alone and a 10-year goal of becoming the Midwest’s leading tech hub, the Grand Rapids region continues to gain momentum.
