So its been a crazy year some of you have been following my progress with the World Food Championships it took me a a minute to digest what really happened this year but im not going to be negative at all ..... i worked 5 hard years to make the top 10 and i DID it ! i was tied for 7th after the first round but due to the new judging criteria i was not able to compete in the final round but even after the final round my scores were high enough to still be in 10th (i am now very proud of this). I have been fortunate to be working here on the beautiful Texas coast for the last 6 years at Pops Tavern to my pops family Tracy, Ronny, Britney Goodwin Karen Pfouts and the rest of you who have come and gone thank you for dealing with me and for showing me support over all these years i love y'all. With the new year comes change i am sad to be leaving but so ecstatic for the next chapter of my culinary journey even though i promised myself i was retired from fine dinning i just cant help it the vibe just runs through my veins i am so nervous and excited to announce i have taken a position with Chef Gail Huesmann at the "new place in town" Merida's Tapas & Cantina starting this Sunday New Years eve! Padre Island watch out were coming for ya! :) The menu is amazing and the location is a chefs dream new pics and info coming soon!
