We are looking for a reliable person that would make a great Gorilla team member. Are you just starting out in the IT field? Would you like to learn how to be a computer technician? We are looking for a person who will be doing a variety of tasks which include helpdesk style computer support, new computer installs, network support, system maintenance, documentation, and server work. The technician must be comfortable working out of our home-based offices, onsite with clients, and in their own home working remotely. If this sounds interesting, we would love to talk to you and see if an opportunity at Gorilla Computer Support is for you. Background checks will be required.

🚨⚠️ EMAIL SCAM ALERT! ⚠️🚨

Beware of phony invoice email scams. If you get an invoice emailed to you for software, like antivirus or other, that you do not recognize, check the email address of the sender. If the sender has an odd email address, like a random name and numbers at Gmail or Yahoo, etc., chances are it is a scam. These type of scams have become increasingly popular in the last several months.

Good advice...

Do not accept a Facebbok friend request from me today that looks suspect. What happened to me is actually an impersonation. It was not really a "hack" as they did not get my password or gain access to my account settings, but rather software bots most likely, combed my public profile/page and created a fake account in my name and targeted those in my public info. It is a good idea to hide your Facebook friends list from non-friends. Happy Facebooking!

Happy New Year!

The scammers are at it again.

Never, ever call a number that pops-up on your computer or device saying you need tech support. These are scams. The pop-up windows look scary and legit, but they are not. They usually exist on, and originate from, an infected website and not on your computer

What do do if the pop-ups happen:
1. Close the Windows and restart the computer
2. Use Windows task manager to end task the pop-up if necessary and restart the computer
3. Run an antivirus/antimalware scan on your computer
4. Report the scam to microsoft.com/reportascam
5. Tell everyone you know not to call scam pop-up numbers! Tell grandma and grandpa too as the scammers tend to prey heavily on their generations.

If you do call the scam phone number and they connect to your computer, in addition to the above steps, do the following:
1. Never take another call from them
2. Contact your credit card provider if you gave out any credit card information in order to protect your account and to refute the charges
3. Cancel any gift cards the scammers requested as payment (yes, they actually do this!)
4. Call the police if the scammers keep calling
5. Keep an eye on your credit report and bank/credit card accounts for suspicious activity
6. Check for and uninstall any programs the scammers installed on our computer

Please do not hesitate to contact Gorilla Computer Support if you have any questions or if there is suspicious activity happening on your computer.
