Martha’s Vineyard faces significant healthcare challenges, with 8.8% of residents living at or below the poverty line. To address these inequities, the Boards of Health partnered with Health Care to deliver community-based nursing services, meeting people where they are.

In 2023, Island Health partnered with Dimagi to introduce a mobile application powered by the Omaha Taxonomy for Nursing. This tool helps public health nurses assess needs, deliver targeted care, and track outcomes, enabling evidence-based decision-making.

Last month’s GiveWell grant announcement has been followed by another significant step forward: -DIV has awarded $1.5 million to support an evaluation of CommCare Connect in Northern Nigeria.

This initiative focuses on improving access to child health services for children under five in areas with high health burdens and low service coverage. By leveraging learn-deliver-verify-pay cycles, frontline workers can opt in to additional paid, impactful work, strengthening existing health systems and driving meaningful outcomes.

We’re excited to be featured in the latest initiative by the Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation! This research agenda helps sub-federal and national government leaders explore how digital public goods (DPGs) can enhance public service delivery and citizen engagement.

The Landscape Scan highlights DPGs designed for government use, examining their existence, global deployment, governance models, and financial sustainability to drive better outcomes for communities.

In building and releasing these resources publicly, the GovTech research team hopes to:
🔹 Create an easy-to-consult and updatable resource documenting the landscape of DPGs in use by governments;
🔹Make it easier for state, tribal, and agencies, advocates, technology implementers to understand the scope and increasing potential of DPGs in public service delivery; and
🔹 Expand understanding of the trends and characteristics of the varied solutions available in the DPG market.
