Or is it just competition for Facebook
Myspace’s owners say the platform may not be finished just yet.
Brothers Chris and Tim Vanderhook, who purchased Myspace from News Corp in 2011, appear in the new documentary Myspace and reveal that they still own the brand and plan to relaunch it when the timing feels right. Chris says that even if the next attempt fails, they are willing to try again.
The brothers bought the once-dominant social network for $35 million, just six years after News Corp paid $580 million for it. Their attempted comeback reportedly cost around $150 million but failed to restore Myspace to its former popularity.
Whether another relaunch actually happens remains unclear, but the owners insist the story of Myspace is not over.
