Originally Ward Amidon, Amidon Jewelers needed a logo refresh at the end of the ’90s. They came to Results Marketing where I was lead graphic designer. The challenge was to find a statement typeface, since the logo was going to be just the name and a cleaned-up version of the outlined diamond from the original logo.

Although there have been slight variations to my design, it's still the same strong, memorable brand identity after all these years. My name might not be up on a billboard, but a logo I designed is, and I'm very proud to serve the Upper Valley business community.

While you're thinking about that, here are a few cool facts about the iconic logo:

❄ The logo was not designed by a graphic designer! It was designed by Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern games, and was first on display at the Antwerp 1920 games.

❄ The 5 interlocked rings represent the coming together of the 5 inhabited continents at the time: The Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
