I've learned from my sister, Architect Amy Green, that good design permeates all things---including buildings.
While listening to a 99 Percent Invisible podcast on the architectural lessons learned from Las Vegas, they mentioned the Furness Library at the University of Pennsylvania and how there was a time when the university group wanted to tear it down to build a more modern looking building on the campus. I'm so glad it remained. It is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen.
