Earth Day is coming up quickly! Did you know that more than a billion people celebrate?! It’s an estimate, sure, but wow what an event! April 22nd is the official date and there’s plenty to do to join in or just keep it simple. Plant a tree, do something outside, enjoy nature and maybe do a little something to take care of the planet we’ve been given charge of.
Hey also, we have some plantable cards for that! 🌎😘 Plant the earth and watch it grow a sweet blend of wildflowers that your bees will love!
Sharing just a couple practices we use all year to lessen our own footprint!
♻️ Our seed paper is made right here in the US. 100% post-industrial, recycled paper dyed with all-natural, vegetable-based pigments, in corn-based packaging, made in a solar-powered production facility.
♻️ We use recyclable packaging and recycle our own incoming boxes (we receive a lot of shipments every week)!
♻️ Each box and all the filler is reused from our incoming shipments or recycled, we recycle all cardboard and extra waste products every week or two.
♻️ Our bubble mailers that go out to you are compostable and every box is recyclable. It’s not the cheapest route to take for a small business, but it’s important to us to hold on to this.
♻️ We use paper based/water activated shipping tape with no added plastics! A goal we have is to tackle our plastic sleeve packaging (these keep your paper safe and dry during transit) but are the last plastic we have to change out once we figure that out. 😅
♻️ All seed paper scrap that can be repurposed or used for other products is repurposed - and trust, and we go through a lot of scrap material, while making sure it maintains quality for you. We take each sheet and scrap strips down to the barest amount of material before it goes in our recycle bins.
We don’t have it all figured out and we don’t claim to make a huge impact with these steps, but I feel it’s important that we at least try and encourage others to do the same. Being conscious about our impact is still important. 🤗
