I am excited to release a spoiler of my ongoing work for Beverage Express and their website that I am hardcoding. It still needs testing and implementing before it's released, but get ready to see Beverage Express 2.0 in 2024 ready to take your delivery and pick-up orders. I just turned in my first dissertation chapter to my main advisor! This chapter focuses on Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Par le feu and Ali Toumi Abassi’s Le vent se lève en janvier. While I definitely haven’t taken the standard path in writing my dissertation, I thought I would share my experience and approach in getting this first chapter completed. There always seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding dissertations, so I hope this post can shed a little light on it. I’d love to hear any writing tips, advice, or struggles that any of you may have. It would be great to see more writers (academic and creative) openly discussing their successes and struggles.

J'avais le plaisir de programmer un site web en utilisant React pour Chez Nicolas (www.cheznicolas.com), un coiffeur indépendant à Nice en France. En plus de son site, j'ai dessiné son logo et la photo de couverture qui souligne son boulot. Après avoir monté les photos avec Adobe Photoshop, je les ai assemblé, j'ai ajouté un filtre dégradé de couleurs (qui reflète les couleurs de son logo) et j'ai crée une ombre portée pour donner un peu de profondeur. Le logo était crée avec Adobe Illustrator et maintenant il orne le site web de Nicolas, ses cartes de visite et ses autres matériaux de marketing. I have had the pleasure a coding a site using React for Chez Nicolas (www.cheznicolas.com), a freelance hairdresser in Nice, France. In addition to his site, I designed his logo and cover page photos that highlight his work. Once the photos were edited in Adobe Photoshop, I put them together, added a gradient filter (matching the gradient of his logo), and created a drop shadow to give it some depth. The logo was designed fully in Adobe Illustrator and now adorns his website, business cards, and other marketing materials.
