The countdown to the BSides Pittsburgh Conference has begun!

Join us on Friday, October 22 at 8:30 am at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh to hear from one of our Cybersecurity Experts - Sid Faber.

Sid will be answering the question "How does an open-source code security patch make its way to your Ubuntu server?"

He will be taking a look behind the curtain into the DevOps cycle that keeps your Ubuntu system up-to-date. Also, explore an often overlooked part of the patching cycle: how a source code security patch becomes an updated binary.

Currently, Sid Faber is working as one of our Cybersecurity Experts. Prior to Plus+, he led the Robotics team at Ubuntu / Canonical, bringing security to Robotics on the Ubuntu operating system. Sid has been active in the cybersecurity field since his first SANS course in 2000. Since then he's worked in the CERT division of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, served as adjunct faculty at both CMU and the University of Pittsburgh, and most recently was the Chief Information Security Officer at Federated Investors.
