Some brands just age really, really well.

Even though this one was created a few years ago, it still feels just as timeless today, which is exactly what we were aiming for.

Stien Interiors believes great design isn't about chasing trends. It's about creating homes that reflect the people living in them: spaces that feel personal, intentional, and serves the backdrop to living.

That mission became the foundation for the brand. I leaned into a blend of modern simplicity and vintage character, pulling inspiration from old architectural stamps to create something that feels established and timeless. The icon combines the initials "SI" with the shape of a home, resulting in a mark that's understated and recognizable.

I love when every piece of a brand has a reason behind it, and this one is full of those little intentional details. Years later, it still feels just as at home as the day it launched. 🏡

A little western-inspired fun for a client celebration 🤠🌵

Quick, creative projects are some of my favorites, and this one was no exception. It was so fun getting to lean into the western theme and bring this hoedown graphic to life!

A brand refresh that proves you don't always have to start over to create something that feels brand new. ✨

When Songwood Contracting reached out, they already had something worth building on. Their logo was recognizable, their reputation spoke for itself, and their commitment to quality craftsmanship and an exceptional client experience was clear from day one.

Rather than reinventing the brand from scratch, we focused on bringing consistency and a little extra pop!

One of my favorite parts of this project was discovering the opportunity hiding in plain sight. Those circles in the "O"s of the Songwood logo? They became a foundational element for the entire visual identity. From there, I introduced a brighter, bolder color palette, blueprint-inspired textures, and a design system that carries consistently across every piece of their marketing.

From business cards and flyers to signage, vehicle graphics ( a BOAT WRAP?! 🛥️ That was fun), presentations, and beyond, every piece now works together to create a consistent experience that reflects the quality of the work (and culture) they deliver.

Songwood is one of those brands that are always a blast to work with, and I couldn’t be happier with the work we’ve produced together. 🙌🏻

There’s a new candidate for the Iowa House, and it was such a joy to help Lucas Hewitt for Iowa House bring his campaign vision to life through branding and print design.

From the beginning, I knew this identity needed to feel like Lucas himself - straightforward, intentional, and focused on what matters most: Iowa and its people. I created a visual system that doesn’t overcomplicate things, but instead keeps the focus where it belongs.

One of my favorite parts of the process was finding the balance between modern and timeless. I incorporated clean, updated design elements while adding subtle nods to a more traditional, hardworking Iowa feel - creating a brand that feels approachable, trustworthy, and rooted in the values behind his campaign.

It was a privilege to play a small part in helping bring this vision to life!

A brand design that never made the feed… and deserves a permanent home here. ✨

After knowing Ashlyn for years, I was so excited when she and her co-founder, Makenna, reached out with the opportunity to bring the vision for their growing ministry, Set Apart Ministries, to life.

Set Apart is a young adult ministry in the Cedar Valley created to provide a space for people in their 20s and 30s to gather, grow in their relationship with God, and build meaningful community with one another.

When developing the brand, the goal was to create something that felt like the heart of the ministry itself: approachable, organic, and welcoming. A brand that invites people in — because that’s exactly what Set Apart (and the Gospel) is all about.

From textured backgrounds and organic shapes to dainty lines and thoughtful typography, every detail was created to reflect the warmth, connection, and intentionality behind this ministry. It’s still one of my favorite brands I’ve had the joy of creating.

So grateful to play a small part in helping bring this vision to life. 🤎

A little Ember Road update ✨

It’s been a few years since I’ve jumped back on socials, but I’m still here…still creating, partnering with amazing clients, and producing work I’m incredibly proud of.

Over the last three years, I’ve stepped into my favorite role and greatest creative project yet: motherhood. 🤍

Welcoming my two beautiful children has changed so much — including the way I view Ember Road. My definition of success has shifted. It’s no longer about growing as much as possible, but about creating meaningful work, serving my clients well, and building a business that allows me to be present for my family.

With that shift, Ember Road has evolved too. I’ve said goodbye to the Etsy print side of my business, scaled back my hours, and made some difficult transitions along the way. While those changes came with bittersweet moments, I’m incredibly grateful I’ve been able to shape my business around this season of life.

I’m thankful I get to spend the majority of my time home with my babies and soak in these little years. AND it’s also such a joy to have dedicated studio hours where I can pour my creativity into clients who inspire me and projects I truly love.

So, what does Ember Road look like today?

→ I’m focused exclusively on client work. Small businesses are still my passion, and my mission remains the same: helping businesses tell their stories through intentional, effective design.

→ I work 10–15 hours a week during set studio hours. I’m still accepting new clients, but projects require a little more planning ahead than they used to. If you have a project in mind, head to emberroad.com and fill out my contact form.

→ I’ve completely revamped my client process so we can get right to the good stuff: clear, efficient, and intentional. (Honestly…music to my ears too.)

A lot has changed, but so much has stayed the same. I still love what I do. I’m still challenged and inspired by the work I get to create. And I’m continually amazed by how much creativity can happen within the boundaries of a smaller schedule.

I’m so excited for this next chapter of Ember Road and so grateful to continue serving you. 🤍
