If there's one thing about chip'd, it's about putting money back into my customers' pockets. I strongly encourage anyone that sees this post to submit an application for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). It is an income-based federal program that provides a $30 monthly discount towards your internet bill, if you qualify. I have helped several people set this up. It's very simple & quickly processed, so you should have an answer, if not within that day, certainly in the next business day. There are other discounts too, including a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer, for those that qualify. Last week, I did my first StarLink home install. StarLink is a satellite-based internet option for those rural residential areas that need low latency, high speed connectivity. The antenna has a internal motor that adjusts itself to acquire optimal satellite signal. If you live in a rural area & are interested in StarLink service, contact me for more info or to setup an install. There’s a premium but if you need high speed internet in the boondocks, you might decide StarLink is well worth it for you.

Do you like to save money? Most internet/cable companies charge a rental fee for their modem/equipment. Sure it’s only $10 or so a month, but even at that it’s a $120 a year & some charge to rent a wifi extender too. It can add up. If you are looking to save on your internet & TV, contact me & we can find equipment that best suits you, whether it’s a streaming device or a whole home modem & router system, and tell the service provider where they can stick their equipment & fees.

After talking with a client today and hearing of some of the hardships & experiences he has had in finding a tech support provider that wouldn't take advantage or try to make a quick buck, I thought I would share the foundation of chip'd.

I originally got the idea for chip’d from helping my relatives with their devices. I often hear “my grandson knows how to set that up for me” or “my daughter takes care of that online for me”, but what about those that don’t have anyone to call?

It’s no secret we are living in the day in age where technology is a necessity and some day in the future, we might not be able to flush a toilet without a smartphone 😂 It can be intimidating and confusing for anyone. I want to provide a service to people with technical issues that don’t quite know where to turn.

On the other hand, the services I provide also cater to individuals that are tech savvy but need hardware repaired and don’t have the time to do it themselves. My goal is to be a trustworthy resource to lean on when comparing phones/computers or quoting a repair to save someone from digging much deeper into their pocket to replace a device. My rates are reasonable and I will always shoot it to you straight. You have no time for BS and neither does chip'd!
