This Memorial Day, we remember that the fallen were more than uniforms or names in history books. They were human beings who carried the weight of a country on their shoulders and gave their lives beside Americans of every background, belief, and walk of life.

At a time when division feels louder than compassion, their sacrifice reminds us of something greater. We share more than we sometimes choose to see. The same hopes. The same fears. The same humanity.

May we honor them not only with remembrance, but by treating one another with more dignity, empathy, and grace.
