I think one of the biggest reasons people fail with AI for SEO has nothing to do with the AI.
It has to do with how they use it.
Most people open Claude and type something like:
“Write me a service page.”
“Create an SEO blog.”
Then they’re surprised when the output feels generic.
Here’s the problem…
Claude isn’t a mind reader.
It doesn’t know your business, your customers, your competitors, your location, your services, or what makes you different.
Think about hiring a new employee.
Would you expect them to do amazing work after one sentence of instruction?
Of course not.
You’d train them.
Give them documentation.
Explain your goals.
Show examples.
Answer questions.
AI works the same way.
The more context you provide, the better the output becomes.
Instead of asking Claude to “write a page,” try giving it:
• Your target keyword
• Information about your business
• Your ideal customer
• Competitor examples
• Your unique selling points
• The tone you want
• The goal of the page
• Supporting research
Now Claude isn’t guessing.
It’s making informed decisions.
One of my favorite sayings is:
Measure twice. Cut once.
When it comes to AI, I’d change it to:
Plan twice. Prompt once.
The best SEO content doesn’t come from better prompts.
It comes from better planning.
