Good afternoon, everyone. I have been wanting to post this for a while now, so I am going to share this with you.
Some people know about some electronics and freezing cold weather don't go good together, even trying to charge batteries. I have come across a customer that left her laptop out in the cold in her car overnight about a few weeks ago. She told me that she brought it in and turned it on. It worked for a good while until it just died on her. She called me to see If I can look at it for her.
I got the laptop and charger then plugged it all in. The laptop was charging the battery, but it would not boot into windows. The way it acted it seems like it crashed. After testing the drive, I have almost overlooked that it was reading a secured boot device at 2tb (Terabyte) which was physically a 1tb. After trying to get the drive to respond, it refused and it didn't want to do anything but read 2tb.
She asked if the cold weather might have affected the drive, which that drive was a M.2 SSD (Solid State Drive). I would not thing it could have caused the drive to do that but that was the only logical cause would be the cold weather and turning the laptop on while it was still cold. Turning on a computer that was out in the freeze can cause issues. It is best to let it get to room temperature to prevent a crash on these newer computers.
Personally, I do not know if it can and this will be my very first experience to see this happen. I just want to share my advice that don't leave your portable devices out in the car if there is going to be a hard freeze. There could be a chance that if you try turning it on as soon as you get it out of your vehicle that something might happen to it. let it get to room temperature before plugging it in or turning it on.

Happy New Year everyone! I do not have much to say at the moment, other than these prices on computer parts. It looks like they doubled since last year. Anyways, it is what it is.

I also want to welcome Gulf Coast to the page.

This might be my final update for the year. Fist off, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

The second thing I wanted to share is that I have tested 2 hard drives these last few weeks running windows 11 and both have been successful in booting in other computers other than their own. If you do use a Microsoft account, you will need your 48 digit bit blocker key to be able to do that and to see anything on that drive. If you do not have that key in your account, it is near impossible to get any data off the drive. I personally hate that if you do any changes to a laptop or desktop that uses the M.2 Drives and they get locked, and you do not have that key. It is a new security feature they use now in computers for theft. So be sure you have the keys to your computers that is on your Microsoft account.

Good morning, I have come across my first so called gaming computer from Walmart. My advice, if you want a gaming computer or just a good workhorse of a computer, do not go to Walmart, go to Microcenter or a place that sells computers other than Walmart. Granted. they do have a few decent computers and laptops there, just stay away from the so-called gaming ones.

One more thing, when it comes to looking for a laptop, stay away from the ones that has the LPDDR4 listed and the eMMC Storage. Those laptops are trash and if one or the other goes out, its trash, It could cost more to replace the motherboard in them than buying a new one.

Good morning, everyone, I just want to keep this straight and to the point. Windows update 25h2, an update so small that I did not notice any changes to my computer. Usually when they do an update like that, its larger but this was small and quick. So I will say for the everyday windows users and not IT Pros, WTH Microsoft?

Windows 10 is being discontinued on October 14, 2025. Are you ready to upgrade?

I need to add to my last post. When you get a used laptop from a pawn shop, make sure it was not opened or taken apart previously. Or if someone gives you one, make sure it was not opened up. This one I had opened up had missing screws under it as well as when I did replace the motherboard in this laptop, the CPU fan or case fan plug was super glued to the socket where it plugged in at as well as the speaker plug that goes onto the motherboard was also glued on there. I was able to get the case fan or CPU fan off carefully, but not so much the speaker plug from the old board. I have replaced the speakers on the laptop and now I am going to see if they are going to work tomorrow when i get them installed.

Good morning, everyone. I just wanted to share with you the thought of buying computers or laptops from pawn shops. From experience, I do not have an issue getting a good laptop or computer from a pawn shop. But before you do, check the model or serial number on it to see how old it is. It is also important to make sure how old it is. The main this is that if it came out in 2016, there is a chance it can run windows 11 without issues. They have sold computers and laptops that had windows 11 on them, but it was forced by bypassing its TPM and processor recommendations. o be careful what you buy. If you are curious about it, give me a call and I can look into it for you.

With the bad weather lately across this country, there has been delays on parts arriving through Ebay. Right now, I have one component delayed from Miami. Florida which should have been here Friday. This don't happen often, but I do let my customers know that if there is a delay, I will notify them.

Good afternoon,

First off, I want to welcome Ryan King Mentality Stewart, Matthew Plank, and Herbert Baker to my page. I am late on doing this, I just been busy all weekend long cleaning, so I do apologize for that.

I just wanted to update that there is something I am trying and so far it has been successful on few counts. I have only tried this a few times overseas, but I was limited on what I can do. I have also tried using this tool here in the states and it does work a lot better. The software program I am talking about is AnyDesk. This program allows you to remote to other pcs so you can either help family, friends, or in my case, use it to show people how to do things or fix minor issues. AnyDesk is free to use for simple tasks. I would like to beta test it to see if I can remove viruses and spyware from a computer remotely. As long as you still have internet, and the speeds are at minimum of 100kbs. I had issues in the past that even at 2mbs it lags. Even though trying to fix a computer if it's hardware related will not work, it has to be software related there's a good 80% chance that it can be fixed. Right now, I am not charging to try this tool because I want to try its limits as far as fix computers remotely. If you want to know more about this, you can message me or just respond to this post.
