Part time ▶️ full time. Jesse Shoffstall made the leap and we are thrilled to have him here for good!

Jesse came to us with a design degree from Winthrop and a habit of jumping into projects headfirst, whether that meant a client deadline or teaching himself UI/UX because he wanted to understand how people actually experience the things we build. He also designs his own board games in his spare time, which tells you everything about how his brain works: he likes systems, he likes people enjoying them, and he likes making both a little better.

Welcome to full time, Jesse!

Château de Nages is the Gassier family's oldest property, and the site opens with a line that sets the tone for everything else on it: they don't inherit the earth from their ancestors, they borrow it from their children. Everything from the family history pages to the vineyard journal follows that same thread.

We built the site to carry that sentiment through, not just state it once and move on.

▪️A homepage built around the family's own words on stewardship and generational responsibility
▪️Family, terroir, and vineyard pages that read more like a record than a pitch
▪️A Thoughts section covering the practical side of that philosophy, from regenerative soil work to soft pruning techniques passed down to Eudes and Montaine
▪️French and English builds, consistent with the rest of the Famille Gassier network

Four sites in, this one probably comes closest to explaining why the family does any of it in the first place.

Halos de Jupiter is the Grenache-only side of the Gassier family, and the site treats the grape almost like a character with five different homes. Jupiter is Châteauneuf-du-Pape, its four moons are Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, and Costières de Nîmes, and the whole map metaphor holds up remarkably well for something a winemaker sketched out in 2007.

We built the site around that concept instead of working around it.

▪️An interactive map of the Southern Rhône where each appellation opens into its own terroir story
▪️Wine pages tied to specific bottlings, including Adrastée and the Châteauneuf-du-Pape itself
▪️A structure simple enough to let the solar system idea do the talking

Smallest of the four Gassier sites we manage, and still one of our favorites to work on.

Domaine Gassier is the home base of the Gassier family, the estate Michel built from the ground up after he came back from a marketing career in the States to take over from his father. It's also where his wife Tina and daughter Isabel work the vines today, and where the family became the first vineyard in France certified regenerative by A Greener World.

We built the estate's site to hold its own within the larger Famille Gassier network, distinct from Château de Nages and Halos de Jupiter but still part of the same digital family.

▪️A homepage designed around Michel's own words on terroir, framed like a musical score he's learning to conduct
▪️Wine pages we organized by collection, Lieux Dits, Lou Coucardié, Nostre Païs, The Varietals, and Blanc de Blancs, each with its own tasting notes and detail
▪️Terroir and vineyard pages that name the actual parcels, Bek and Brousson among them
▪️A Thoughts section we set up to function like a farming journal, where the team posts on reforestation projects and what regenerative practices look like underground
▪️Full French and English builds, so the estate speaks to its home market and its export market with equal clarity

We also handle the ongoing updates, from new vintage pages to fresh journal entries, so the site keeps pace with what's happening at Mas de Nages in Caissargues.

Part of a four-site project we've been proud to support for years now.

A wine importer website is not like other sites we build. It has to sell to trade buyers, tell producer stories to consumers, keep a sales team stocked in the field, and hold thousands of interconnected records without looking like a spreadsheet in a trench coat.

We wrote up what we have learned managing that kind of scale for European Cellars and Albert Bichot USA, including:

🍷 Why the hardest part has nothing to do with visual design
🍷 The CMS decision that determines your build time and your headaches later
🍷 What most importer sites get wrong about search
🍷 The one thing sales teams need that almost nobody asks for

Every so often the best thing for a team is a pool and a few hours with no agenda 🏊‍♂️

We spent the day watching kids cannonball, eating too many Uncrustables, and talking about things that had nothing to do with deadlines. It's easy to treat a day like that as a break from the work. We've started treating it as part of the work. The kind that makes the rest of it easier.

Building a home search that works like a conversation instead of a filter menu meant teaching an AI agent to actually know the inventory, not guess at it. For , we used to organize the site's data so an assistant could pull real listings, communities, and details through an API call rather than making things up as it went.

How it works:

🔹 Open the chat and it suggests a few smart searches to start

🔹 Type your own query and the search chips update in real time

🔹 Hit search and the screen splits into a chat and results view

🔹 Ask a follow-up about square footage or a specific community, and the agent goes back to that same organized data for the answer

🔹 If it can't answer, or thinks a real person should step in, it offers a form right there in the chat, sending that lead straight to the team

We also gave it a personality. Strict guardrails keep the voice in line with the Saussy Burbank brand, so it never sounds like a generic bot bolted onto a homepage.

In July, that meant about 130 conversations of people finding homes by describing what they wanted instead of clicking through filters. Small number so far, but a good early read on what happens when search starts sounding like a person instead of a search bar.

Five generations of winemaking in the south of France. Four websites. One unified digital story.

Famille Gassier farms the Costières de Nîmes, the southernmost stretch of the Rhône Valley. Michel Gassier came home from a marketing career in the States in the early 90s to take over from his father, then built Domaine Gassier from the ground up with his wife Tina. Their daughter Isabel now works the estate as the fifth generation. They were also the first vineyard in France to earn regenerative certification from A Greener World.

We built them a WordPress multisite that holds four brands together without flattening any of them.

▪️Famille Gassier as the parent site
▪️Château de Nages, Domaine Gassier, and Halos de Jupiter, each with its own identity and look
▪️Individual pages for every wine, with tasting notes, terroir, and vintage detail
▪️Featured wine modules that let them spotlight new releases across brands
▪️A press and trade library with tech sheets, bottle shots, labels, and press books
▪️English and French versions of every site
▪️Estate journals for harvest reports and notes from the vineyard

Halos de Jupiter was the one we had the most fun with. Michel started it in 2007 as a tribute to Grenache, and the brand maps the Rhône onto the solar system. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is Jupiter. Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, and Costières de Nîmes are the four moons Galileo found.

We’ve been supporting these sites for years now, along with press releases, sales sheets, and the deeper brand storytelling.

A dream project, and one of the feathers in our cap.

CASE STUDY | Domaines Albert Bichot - A historic French winery finding a new US home online and in stores.

Albert Bichot USA was founded in 2007 by Alberic Bichot as the US home for the historic French winery, Domaines Albert Bichot. Albert Bichot USA needed its own unique web presence with both a visual and informational nod to its parent company. The new site would also need to serve multi-faceted purposes of showcasing the products of Domaines Albert Bichot, attracting other producers interested in selling their products in the US, and serving as an educational resource for tradespeople.

How SDH Helped:

✅ Worked closely with the marketing team to craft a story that is a nod to the AB roots but defines a new era for the company
✅ Designed the site around the classic brand elements while adding our own spin
✅ Integrated the Wordpress CMS to allow the AB team to make content updates from product to press
✅ Turn-key hosting service and CDN setup and maintenance
✅ Searchable ratings and reviews managed by the AB team
✅ Global site search with advanced admin statistics
✅ CMS powered visual distributor map

By introducing strong visual details and impactful headlines, we were able to establish a connection to Albert Bichot USA’s French forefathers while also setting it apart as an essential part of the company’s future. With a focus on clear calls to action, informational hierarchies, and a thoughtful database, the new website speaks clearly to all of its audience: potential producers, vendors, wholesalers, restaurateurs, and more.

What we hear most from clients isn't about the final files. It's about the calls returned, the obstacles handled without drama, the process itself. That's the reason people come back!
