Being a graphic designer, there are very few times where I get to physically touch my work, so believe me when I say I spent most of the night with tears in my eyes in total disbelief that this event was completely covered in my work!!!! Like what!?! 😭😭

Then add in getting to celebrate my dear friend Emily, and truly I don’t think I’ll ever recover. Watching her grow in both her work and herself over the past couple of years has been more incredible than I can put into words. Cheering on Something Borrowed and The Murrays for life!!!! 🄹🩷

I would relive this night over and over if I could!!

I’m OBSESSED with maximalism in interior design, and in a voice note to yesterday, I realized it’s exactly how I approach my brand projects too šŸ’…šŸ¼

Most of my clients walk away with over a thousand files at export (sometimes two thousand šŸ˜…)

Do they know what every single one is? Maybe not, but they are ARMED šŸ‘šŸ¼ they have everything they could ever need to tackle anything that comes their way

Literally the last thing I want my clients to stress over is emailing me a year later asking for print-ready files or a different colored version of their logo!!

Their brand is set to grow with them, not just meet them where they are right now.

This is what maximalism looks like in a brand identity; it’s truly a full visual runway to run your business šŸ’ƒšŸ»

Most people think their website is the problem, but honestly, it’s not your website…

It’s that there’s no brand supporting it šŸ‘€

If all you’ve got is a standalone logo, that doesn’t actually give your business anything to work with. It doesn’t create a look, a feeling, or any real direction. It’s just very small one piece!

So when it comes time to build a website, one of two things usually happens:

šŸ’» You’re piecing it together yourself, picking a template that has fonts and colors that feel ā€œclose enoughā€ to the vibe you’re going for…

šŸ’» A designer is doing the same thing, but with limited direction because they don’t have colors, fonts, or a creative direction to pull from.

So while your site might end up functioning or even looking ā€œgood,ā€ it doesn’t feel layered or distinctive or instantly recognizable…It doesn’t feel like something that could only belong to you.

And I’d bet my bottom dollar it’s not just your website that feels that way, it’s prooobably everything šŸ˜…

Your social graphics, your marketing, your client guides, all your visuals! It’s all being built from the same very tiny starting point.

So of course it’s hard to stand out! There’s nothing there to actually make them stand out!

That’s what happens when the brand stops at the logo.

A full brand gives your website depth instead of just structure. It gives your content personality instead of only consistency. It gives you actual creative direction so you’re not guessing every time you need to make something (or putting whatever fonts were on the Canva template on your IG post for the day…)

When you’ve got a full brand in place, you can feel the difference IMMEDIATELY šŸ‘šŸ¼

It’s and I want to show you the behind-the-scenes of my brain 🧠✨

It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s full of 472 thoughts at any given moment.

It gets hyper-fixated on the most random things (ask me about my current obsession, I dare you). It picks up on details that no one else notices. It thrives with structure but will also impulsively rearrange my entire living room at 7 AM on a Saturday because ✨ dopamine ✨

It’s autistic, and no, that’s not a bad thing.

For me, autism looks like:
šŸ–„ Hyper-focus so strong I forget the world exists (unless my husband orĀ Ā remind me to eat…which they frequently have to)
šŸ¾ Feeling joy so big it makes my whole body buzz (seeing my work on a pillow in real life had me in tears!!)
šŸ“š Needing quiet, cozy time to regulate (with my dogs, obviously)
šŸ‘€ Noticing every single little detail (which, hi, is why my designs go so hard)
🚦 Sensory chaos (weird textures and loud noises? Straight to jail…and I hope you pictured that episode of Parks & Rec reading that phrase)

Let me be so honest with you: every single one of these things makes me really freaking good at what I do.

I see what others miss and create experiences that feel right. I obsess (in the best way) over the details that make a brand unforgettable. My brain was MADE for this!!

I’ve been sitting on this caption for about a week now because it’s truly so hard for me to put into words what this project (and this gal) mean to me…but screw it, I’m just gonna write from the heart šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Emily is the kindest, most genuine soul I think I’ve ever (virtually) met, and a week from now I’ll get to actually squeeze her as we celebrate 5 years of and her NEW BRAND AND WEBSITE!!!!

I worked with Emily just over 2 years ago for a website but she said even then that she’d be back for the full ordeal one day, so when she landed in my inbox earlier this year, I could feel in my bones how epic this project was going to be!

Not only am I so obsessed with Emily, but this design is living rent free in my head šŸ‘šŸ¼ we had the most fun with the illustrations for this project (swipe to see the Zoom Zoom!!) including a bouquet for her main logo composed of all the birth flowers of her family members 🄹 talk about custom!!

I cannot wait to see where this new chapter takes Something Borrowed, but I know I’ll be over here cheering her on forever and ever!

Today marks 8 years of .ashleyinnovations 🄹🩷

If you had told the version of me creating this business from nothing in my college apartment where we’d be now, I never would have believed you.

I never would have believed that people would pay me to create for them.

I never would have believed that people would trust me with their businesses.

I never would have believed that I would have the confidence to show up and put myself out there.

And I DEFINITELY never would have believed you if you told me this is how I would find the people that would support me in every way possible.

It’s funny how everything gets better than we could imagine when we step outside our comfort zones šŸ˜‰ and that’s probably the biggest lesson I’ve learned over the past years: just do it, even if you have to do it scared.

Thank you to every single client, friend, referral partner, supporter, team member at , fellow Design Partners, and family member who has cheered me on and believed in me. I wouldn’t be here without you and I love you so dearly!

Your brand was never meant to live only on your website. It’s not supposed to clock in when you open your laptop and disappear the second you shut it.

It’s meant to live where you actually do the work. Where you sit down with your coffee (or cocktail), where ideas come together, where you make decisions, spiral a little, get excited, and keep going anyway.

When your space feels aligned with your brand, everything gets easier (in every way!). Showing up doesn’t feel like such a production. Creating doesn’t feel like you’re forcing yourself into a vibe. You’re already in it.

And that’s what people feel.

Not logos on the wall or perfect color matches.

Just a space that feels intentional, lived-in, and very much you.

When your environment supports you, your energy shifts. When your energy shifts, your work shows it. And when your work shows it, people notice, even if they can’t explain why.

That’s the magic, girlfriend ✨

If your entire brand shifts every time Pantone posts, you don’t need a rebrand, we need to have a good long conversation.

Trends are cute, fun even! Trends are the fashion jewelry of the design world.

But your brand is the diamond necklace šŸ’Ž

It should NOT be swapped out because someone on the internet said ā€œthis white is the new white.ā€

And listen, I love a good aesthetic moment. I love pretty things. I love color (obviously)!

But I’m not building brands for the algorithm.

I’m building brands for business owners who want to be unforgettable in their industry, not just on their feed.

Pretty will get you likes.

Purpose will get you booked.

There’s a big difference.

So yes, I’ll make fun of Cloud Dancer until the day I die.
But the real joke is trying to run a high-end business off whatever trend cycle is currently screaming the loudest.

If 2026 is the year you’re finally done with blending in, watering yourself down, or rebranding every time TikTok gets bored, come build something that actually matches the level you’re operating at.
