Founded in 1975 under the name Heinz Musitronics, it started as a local music store that also dabbled in church audio installations. In 2002, Steve Hobeck purchased Heinz Musitronics with the vision of growing the business to meet customer demand in the installation realm. With one employee focusing on retail and Steve focusing on installations, the business grew quite nicely until 2008, when the
economy took a hard downturn. At this time, a transition was made from a music-store-centric business to a commercial AV company. In 2009, now with five employees, the business name was changed to Heinz ProAV in order to better reflect the evolving nature and growth of our AV installation and events activities. In 2018, with twelve employees, we once again made another name change to Spectrum Integrators. It was at this time we made a strategic decision to enter into the newly emerging Low-Voltage contracting arena – adding security, structured cabling, and several other technologies that fall under this category, as well as significantly expanding our events services. The growth and evolution of our business has been driven by the evolving needs of our customers and the advancement of new and/or evolving technologies. We are now a very different company than we were eighteen years ago. Spectrum Integrators, our new name, more accurately describes who we are and what we do. What started out as a small, local music store has now become a highly competitive commercial AV and Low Voltage (LV) design-build, and AV events business.
