Thanks to a volunteer our website is back up and running!

We are still meeting from 6:00pm to 8:00pm every Saturday giving out computers.

We are a non-profit organization located in Charlottesville, VA. We provide free computer hardware and education to the community through the use of free and open source software. OSR had a great time at the East Coast RepRap Festival. We gave away bins off free stuff like power supplies, network cables and keyboards. Many people were very interested in what we do at OSR. They loved our story of how we receive computer donations from local businesses and people. Then refurbish them to give back to the community. Plus our love of interest in 3D printers and all things with the maker community. It was a very successful event.

Check out this little netbook just donated. We would be happy to see more donations like this one. Please spread the word to any local business or organization about our good cause. We also offer to wipe the data clean before recycling and sending back into the community.

Look at all these 3D printers! Generally we work on fixing up and distributing computers. However for a limited time we’re going to see how we can recycle these 3D printers back into society. If you’re interested in helping on this project we’re more than happy to give you one.

We’re all fired up this evening and everyone in good spirits, in these photos we have three individuals from the community receiving computers, another is getting computer help, and another person is leaving with a printer and setup tutorial she took with her phone. We’re open every Saturday 6-8pm for exciting events like these.

Sometimes at OSR we get old gems such as this old IBM Wheelwriter 5 donated. It’s almost old enough where it’s one of those things you wouldn’t want to give away. However if you’re interested, you’re welcome to it, Saturday 6-8pm
