When work and life are balanced, good things happen.

While working in the corporate office for a few weeks, D1AL's Tom Mohr decided to practice some work-life balance. He met friends and family at a Buffalo hotspot, the Hofbräuhaus, on Saturday night to listen to his brother’s German band.

Enjoying the music and a pint of Fest Bier, someone tapped his shoulder.
“Excuse me, what are the chances your name is Tom?”
“Pretty good, actually,” he replied.

What followed was a wonderful exchange with Stephanie Schenking, CRCP, CCCO, Tom's fellow RMAi committee member, whom he had never met. It was an excellent opportunity for the D1AL network to get bigger and the world to get smaller!

Stephanie lives in Cincinnati and happened to be in town for the Bills-Bengals game. The highlight of Tom's night was not only meeting Stephanie but having the opportunity to introduce her to his 86-year-old mom, whom he brought to the event.

There were so many meaningful and energizing meetings at last week's ACA Convention in Louisville. One of my favorites was a dinner conversation with ACA’s Kelli Van Cleave. We discussed training and skill development, and that we should invest in people just as much as we do in AI.

Whether we are training collectors, grooming leaders, or teaching staff how to prompt a GPT, we should consistently invest in human capital.
