I'm always amazed at the creative ways people use the tools we put into the world. It's a bit like an artist, they don't get to dictate what the final piece means, because what really matters is how the audience takes it and makes it their own. That's been my dream for the BMad Method platform since the earliest days of v6 alpha.

And honestly, people were already doing it. Plugging BMad agents into Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues. Serving workflows through MCP across whole enterprise orgs. Bending the framework to fit their own stacks and review processes. All of it amazing. All of it kind of hacky, and brittle every time I shipped an update.

v6.4.0 fixes that for good. Every module, every agent, every workflow in BMad now supports durable, consistent customization through TOML overrides in `_bmad/custom/`. Survives every upgrade. No forks. No copy-paste drift.

Within days of the test release, the use cases people are reporting have exploded. I'll be sharing stories and recipes from real teams on BMadCode.com and YouTube soon.

I was a guest on one of my favorite tech podcasts - if you have not already, check out TechLead Journal - and give this episode a listen where I share details on how the BMad Method transformed the organization I work in, and how it can help you out where ever you and your own workplace is at on its AI Journey.

The new BMad Method release includes something I've been working on for a while: a full PRFAQ gauntlet skill with the BMad Analyst that puts your product ideas through the same rigorous process Amazon uses before funding any new product.

The first thing I did was turn it on my own idea, a feature that several of you had actually asked for. I spent 40 minutes going back and forth with the Analyst, absolutely convinced I was right, throwing every argument I had at it. The Analyst dismantled every single one, and by the end I killed the idea myself because the gauntlet exposed a fundamental problem with who it would actually attract.

But what surprised me more than killing the idea was what came out of it: the PRFAQ didn't just tell me the idea was wrong, it showed me what I should have been building instead, and that insight is now shipping in the next release.

I wrote up the whole story as a blog post, including how Amazon's biggest wins and most expensive failure both trace back to whether they followed this same process or skipped it.

🚀 BMad Builder v1.5.0 Released

Build AI agents that not only remember, but evolve and gain new capabilities over time.

This is the biggest update to BMad Builder since v1.0. The agent builder now creates three types of agents that you can use or share with the rest of the BMad Global community:

🧠 Stateless - Focused experts for one-off tasks. No memory overhead.

💫 Memory - Agents with persistent identity. They remember who you are, what you prefer, and what you've worked on together. Every session they read their "sanctum" files and become themselves again. Two onboarding styles: deep discovery for creative partners, or efficient setup for domain experts.

⚡ Autonomous - Memory agents that wake on their own schedule. Curate their knowledge, prune old logs, then do domain work - incubate ideas, monitor projects, track research - all without you being there.

The feature I'm most excited about: evolvable capabilities. You can teach your agent new skills over time. Prompt-based, script-based, whatever it needs. The agent learns and keeps growing with you.

The builder figures out which type you need through natural conversation. No menus, no configuration forms.

Four sample agents ship with the release covering all three types. Full docs overhaul with a new deep-dive on the memory architecture.

Going AI-native, from the trenches.

04/05/2026

Hey - I'm Brian (BMad). I've spent 25+ years in software and product leadership, and now I'm all-in on helping people and organizations go AI-native.

I created the BMad Method, an open-source framework that helps anyone work smarter with AI. Not just developers. Product managers, designers, writers, leaders, solo-preneurs, sales, executives - anyone ready to transform how they work.

I'll be sharing what's working, what's hype, and what I'm learning from the trenches. Practical AI content and zero gatekeeping.

If you're going AI-native - or thinking about it - you're in the right place.
