When the call came in ahead of Winter Storm Fern, Benton Technical was already preparing.

Decades of experience responding to widespread outages immediately kicked in — planning, staging resources, and preparing crews for rapid deployment. Whether it took one crew or many, we stood ready to support North Eeast Mississippi Electric as soon as the storm passed.

By Tuesday, we were on the ground with more than two-thirds of the electric system still out. Our teams went straight to work restoring the fiber infrastructure that’s critical to electric delivery. Communication to substations and switches, powered by the FTTH system that also serves members with internet, had to be restored quickly and safely.

In the aftermath of any major storm, low lines are always a serious concern. In one instance, our crew stopped immediately to assess a line hanging low enough to impact all traffic in the area. Public safety comes first. We coordinated with the appropriate utilities to ensure the hazard was addressed before moving forward.

Benton’s top priority is simple: restore service to the people affected as quickly and safely as possible. Our ability to mobilize rapidly and execute efficiently makes a real difference when communities need it most.

For more than 20 years, Benton and the Triage family of companies have been responding when disaster strikes. When the unfortunate happens, we’re here to help providers get their customers back up and running — and their communities moving forward again. This is just another way that the Triage Family of companies are the go-to provider for service providers nationwide.

On Veterans Day, we pause to honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and the families who have stood beside them.

This day is about respect, remembrance, and gratitude. We recognize the courage it takes to raise your hand and serve, the sacrifices made at home and abroad, and the quiet strength carried long after the uniform is folded away.

Service doesn’t always end when the uniform comes off. Many veterans find a new chapter in industries like telecom, construction, and technology roles where mission-focus, accountability, and teamwork still matter every day.

At Benton Triage, we’re grateful to have veterans on our team helping build and support the critical networks and infrastructure that keep communities connected. We don’t take their service, past or present, for granted.

To all Veterans and your families: you have our deepest respect and appreciation today and every day.
