What is Amateur Radio (HAM)?
A SERIOUS Hobby and Service used to communicate locally, nationally, and globally without having to rely on commercial networks and phones.
A communication platform used for educational and emergency purposes.
An activity which increases individual and group exposure to technology and electronic devices.
Exposes individuals to a diverse community while learning new skill sets.
Basic concept for HAM Radio
Government agencies allocate specific radio frequencies of which individuals can receive and transmit signals via the use of these four components:
Transceiver (Sends and receives signals).
Antenna (Converts electrical signals into radio waves).
Power Source (Battery/AC Power/Solar Energy/etc.).
Frequency Bands (I.e., High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) bands which are determined by the various ranges of communication).

Studying for Licensure (South African Radio League). (The National Association for Amateur Radio/ARRL).
Levels of Licensing (Africa: Class A and B). (US: Technician, General, and Extra).
Practicing Procedures and Learning Protocols.
Join a Local Club.
Keep it Simple (Hand-held Radio, Base Station, Mobile).
