At Sarabande, Behind the Curtain Vol. 2 brought together music, storytelling, and purpose in an intimate live setting.

The evening opened with a conversation around MOD Collective's Diaper Dollars program, as local officials and MOD Collective staff spoke candidly about diaper insecurity — an issue that often goes unseen but is deeply felt by families every day. Hillary Scott, Caitlyn Smith, and Tiera Kennedy then took the stage for an evening of performances and personal stories, with the night raising both awareness and funds for the cause.

Conversations and performances flowed naturally throughout the evening, with each song taking on new weight as its story was revealed.

Clear, balanced sound kept every lyric and spoken moment present in the room, while warm stage lighting held focus on the artists without separating them from the audience. 🎶✨

For years, events were one of the few places people could access information they couldn't get elsewhere. But that's no longer true.

Most events are still over-optimizing for something attendees already have too much of: content.

Today, information is abundant — searchable, replayable, and instantly accessible. It’s no longer the sole motivator for attending an event.

What’s increasingly scarce is focused attention and the experience of hundreds of people reacting to something together in real time.

That’s what changes how people remember it.

July’s caked up with 5️⃣ birthdays!

We spend a lot of time together loading trucks, solving problems, building events, and chasing timelines.

But getting to celebrate the people behind all that work is one of the best parts!

Help us wish them all a happy birthday 🎂

What happens when you step away from the booth and really experience InfoComm?

Our own Amanda Eberle shares her biggest takeaways from this year's show from the technology that stood out to the conversations that reinforced where our industry is headed. It's not just a recap of what she saw, but what it all means for event professionals, AV partners, and the future of live experiences.

If you couldn't make it to InfoComm — or you want to compare notes — this is worth the read.

One of the most overlooked realities in live events is how rarely anything transfers cleanly from one venue to another.

A technical solution that worked in one space might be unnecessary — or impossible — in another.

A restriction in one city might not exist in the next.

Even similar-looking venues can behave completely differently once you get into rigging, power distribution, load-in paths, ceiling structure, or local labor rules.

But in planning conversations, past experience often turns into default logic:
“We couldn’t do that last time, so we probably can’t do it here.”

That’s where strong production thinking matters.

Not to reject experience, but to re-test it against the actual environment in front of you.

Because the question is never just what worked before. It’s what works here.

Every event is competing with distractions — phones, conversations, fatigue, information overload. The most effective visual environments help audiences instinctively know where to look, what matters, and when it matters.

That's why video isn't just a technical element. It's an experience design tool.

Whether it's an LED wall, projection, camera feeds, webcast production, or IMAG support, the goal stays the same:
Help people feel more connected to what's happening in the room.

What people see: a finished show.
What it takes: hundreds of small decisions designed not to be noticed, but details everyone can feel.

At ShowREADY., a lot of the work happens before anything looks like it’s happening. Gear gets prepped, timelines get pressure-tested, and details get tightened long before a room ever opens.

It’s not about reacting once things start. It’s about making sure they start right in the first place.

That’s the part most people never see, but it’s where everything is built.

A major source of risk in live events is an assumption that goes unchallenged.

If something hasn’t been verified, it isn’t ready — even if it worked earlier, even if it’s usually reliable, even if someone believes it’s already been checked.

On paper, everything looks completely right up until the moment it isn’t. And the problem is, live environments don’t forgive gaps in confirmation. They expose them in real time, in front of everyone.

That’s why being matters so much. Because once you’re live, there’s no difference between “we assumed it was fine” and “it isn’t working.”

At Amazing Space for the CDW Corporation BRG 2026 event, the stage became the center of the room from the moment guests walked in.

Large screens and live camera feeds brought speakers closer to the audience while textured scenic elements and layered lighting gave the room a sense of depth that shifted throughout the program.

Conversations onstage moved between leadership, identity, and shared experience, with the environment around them helping those moments feel bigger than a standard corporate presentation.

Whether people were seated in the room or joining through Webex, the experience stayed connected from start to finish. 🎤✨
