So here's a cool project we just delivered. This is for a custom made Android based device that will cue up and play any MP3 or audio file instantly with a press of a button from any RTI remote or touch screen.

We are using the Spectre Bar & Restaurant template as the basic layout for a single page UI to make it super easy for the owner and staff to operate with zero instruction.

For example, the official Chicago Blackhawks goal horn sound with 15 seconds of Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis, Go Cubs Go after a W etc...

The video window displays the output of the DirecTV receiver via HDMI to H.264, and they wanted to show program info, but not all the time, so we used the LayerSwitch driver to toggle the information bar on / off, and set the info button to reversed whenever it is showing.

You can select and set or mute the volume for the four zones that will be playing the Game Effect audio files, the full function remote on the right can swipe left for 27 preset channel icons.

Lastly, we were also asked to design their new logo. They wanted a sports look and feel with a push button, so we used very simple solid shapes for the entire design. This makes it very easy to embroider or cut custom decals when there are no gradients in the logo.

Automated is a collaboration a long time in the making including automation legend Vincent Bova and myself to create a series of webinars to help RTI dealers with some of the most asked questions regarding residential and commercial UI design, custom graphics, and understanding popular drivers (such as Layer Switch).

We will be doing this on our own time, and these webinars will be very casual and relaxed. We have compiled a long list of topics to cover, and we will be announcing our first episode date shortly. It will more than likely be the first week of December 2024. Stay tuned.

Just wanted to let everyone know a brand new free download is available as of this morning. I just added a pre-programmed project file for all resolutions (including the new IST-5/10) for the Intrinsic Dev MyQ driver.

I created virtual fobs for garage doors, gates, and MyQ lighting. There is also a "compact" version that uses a ViewPort so you can swipe through the different control options in a smaller footprint, like the right menu on our widescreen templates or the IST-5 without flipping pages.

This file was designed to work with both our Aleera and Spectre templates, so you can use the Merge Pages feature or simple copy / paste. I will add the ISR-2/4 when the new remotes begin to ship.

We have some big news to share. Our Spectre UX residential and commercial template collection is now available for Crestron VTPro-e. The residential templates include a bonus file for the TST-1080 ported to Crestron Construct, and additional resolutions for Construct will be added soon.

Happy New Year, Everyone.

I just added a free download which includes scalable sliders and gauges in 7 colors and multiple sizes for use in ID11. These will scale in the X axis for horizontal use, and the Y axis for vertical just like the ones you draw in ID11 for mobile devices and the newer KA touch panels, except they work on all handhelds, in-wall, and mobile devices. I made them in sizes to work with anything from the 2 Series handhelds all the way up to HD / Retina displays. Instructions are included in the zip file.

I also have an exclusive download arriving shortly for anyone who already purchased the Spectre (resi or commercial) templates as well. I converted the VMS-741 Multiviewer to the all new template look, and it should be arriving shortly. I am almost done converting the KA8 to KX/CX10 for anyone who may be using the legacy panels so you can use it on older projects if needed.

(Quick Edit) - If you don't already have the Spectre UX templates, be sure to grab the downloadable demos from that page as well. You can test drive the templates with a load and go (non editable) template for the iPad and 3/4 series handhelds.
