A customer came in last week looking pale.

He’d spilled an entire iced coffee on his work laptop. Then he panicked, dried it off with a towel, and tried to power it back on.

That last part is what almost killed it.

We pulled it apart, cleaned the corrosion off the board, and saved it.

If you ever spill liquid on a laptop, this is the move:

Power it off immediately. Flip it upside down. Don’t power it back on. Bring it in.

The faster we see it, the more likely we save it.

If your Wi-Fi keeps dropping in one specific room, it’s almost never your internet provider.

It’s usually one of three things:

• Distance from the router (Wi-Fi signal weakens fast through walls)
• Interference from microwaves, baby monitors, or your neighbor’s router
• An old router that just can’t keep up

Before you call your provider, try moving the router higher up and away from electronics.

If it still drops, a router restart or a stronger router could fix your problem or you can look into wired alternatives. One more thing, check into what Wi-Fi band you're connected to, either the 2.4 or 5.0 GHz, you may get a better signal when you switch.
