Thank you to the students from more than 230 schools who shared what the First Amendment personally means to them (as well as the educators and caregivers who helped them think about their freedoms).
Despite the challenges of the last year, the quality of work submitted for consideration in this contest made the deliberations particularly difficult! Winners, Honorable Mentions, and Semi-Finalists for the 2020 First Amendment Freedoms Art & Essay Contest came from 5 of the 6 states in our region and the following schools: Addison Trail High School, Adlai E. Stevenson High School, Albert Lea Senior High School, Beulah Shoesmith Elementary, Bolingbrook High School, Carl Sandburg High School, Conrady Jr High, Haven Middle School, Highcrest Middle School, Homewood-Flossmoor High School, Lakeview Technology Academy, Lockport Township High School, Lowell High School, Mete Valley High School, Niles North High School, Pennoyer Elementary School District 79, Scullen Middle School, Southwest Middle School, St. Cajetan, Summit Hill Junior High School, Sun Prairie High School, Vernon Hills High School, Walter Payton College Prep, Waubonsie Valley HS, Wauconda High School, West Lafayette Jr Sr High School, and Westchester Middle School.
