Happy World Cider Day!

🍎 Cider is as old as the apple trees John Chapman (better known as Johnny Appleseed) tended to in America in the early nineteenth century.

📚 Actually, this fermented apple beverage has roots that go back even further. As the story goes, when the Romans invaded England around 55 BCE, they discovered Celts already enjoying cider.

🍏 Nowadays, cider is enjoyed in many forms. From dry to sweet and spiced to hopped, “hard” cider runs the entire gamut of flavor and aroma.

📈 Here’s a little *in-cider* info: In previous years, drinks in the “Cider - Traditional” category notched an incredible 2 million check-ins on the app in a single year.

This Canadian brewery ranks as the 8th highest-rated brewpub in the world!

🏆 has become a beloved name among Canadian craft beer enthusiasts, and their impressive 24 medals from this year’s Untappd Community Awards (2nd place in Canada) certainly bolsters their reputation.

🇨🇦 BreWskey began as a quaint hangout in Old Montreal, established by three friends—Derrick Robertson, Guillaume Couraud, and Karine—who all had a deep love for craft beer, whiskey, and comfort food. Little did they know they would play a significant role in shaping the future of modern craft beer in Canada.

🍁 Now, BreWskey has transformed into a large microbrewery complex situated in the historic Marché Bonsecours, complete with a pub, taproom, and annex.

🤯 With more than 328,000 check-ins and a phenomenal overall rating of 4.15 on Untappd, BreWskey ranks as the 10th highest-rated brewery in Canada.

📈 Did you know that BreWskey boasts over one thousand beers listed on Untappd? 1,037 to be exact!

🍺 While BreWskey may be known for their turbid IPAs and decadent smoothie sours, the Montreal crew took home nine gold medals this year across a variety of styles, showcasing their versatile skill set.

🏎️ Bakes Brewing is currently the third highest-rated brewery in New Jersey, recently bursting onto the scene with a speed that brings to mind Ricky Bobby (shake & bake, anyone?).

📈 With an impressive overall rating of 4.25, Bakes has firmly established itself in one of the most competitive states for craft beer (Shout out to Troon, Mindful Ales, The Seed, and Oakflower).

🗣️ Word is spreading fast as Bakes has already accumulated nearly 40K check-ins in less than three years of operation.

💚 One style that has certainly put this New Jersey team on the map is the IPA. Of their 132 beers listed on Untappd, more than 75 are IPAs, most of them deliciously opaque hazy beauties.
