First Looks aren't something new by any means - but can still often be a hot topic for "breaking tradition." But its tradition - not a rule. So here's why we always advocate for a First Look.

1) Its just you two. Literally one of the ONLY moments during your day where its just YOU TWO. An intimate pocket of time with your person before the whirlwind of a day starts. Feeling jitters? Connecting with your soon-to-be-spouse is sure to tame that nervous system.

2) a natural sense of freedom to let all the emotions come out - without 100s of eyeballs on you. Not everyone feels comfortable letting the tears fall in front of all your guests - valid. Also, waiting till walking down the aisle doesnt really allow you to fully embrace your person the instant you see them when your overwhelmed with joy & love. You can't spin them around and tell them how beautiful they are, and really *check them out*. I mean, you could 😏 haha

3) logistically, it makes sense. Get ready -> first look->wedding party/fam photos ->ceremony-> ACTUALLY ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GUESTS without stressing over more photos. You know who also likes this? Your wedding party. They're clocking out. They want to party. And no, its not about us, but your vendors love it too. Less chaos, more time for candids during cocktail hour & details & room shots. Honestly your day just runs smoother. Facts.

A polite reminder that planner and coordinator are *not* interchangeable 😉

The differences are in the length of time we are working with the couple & the depth of our involvement. At the end of the day, your wedding will be executed flawlessly with a Sweetchic planning OR coordination package - it really just depends on what you need as a couple.

Rule of thumb? Everyone needs a coordinator, and *most* people need a planner 😘

We dont know about you - but we think the wedding industry has been way ahead of this trend. Over the past 2 years, we've had several brides with all, or nearly, white floral. Not to mention crisp linens, bridal gowns, and chic cakes.

Will the all white trend continue now that Pantone has released its color of the year? I happen to think we're going to see a lot of color drenching in the coming years...
