So, how did we get here? Here is a brief history of our company:
Hyla Soft Inc. was founded in 2004 in Genoa, Italy. Hyla Soft was founded as a spinoff of ORCI Automation, the company responsible for the development of the original Siemens MES product called SIMATIC IT (now Opcenter). Siemens bought ORCI Automation in 2000.
In 2007, the Hyla Soft North America was opened. The first office was first located in Addison, IL until it was moved to the Chicago Loop location that we all know and love.
Over 10 years, Hyla Soft USA has grown from a handful of consultants (here are the OGs: Ettore Soldi, Chris Draska, Eric Dudeck, Brandon Johnson, David Kaparis) to over 60 U.S.-based consultants (and always growing) today.
In 2011, Hyla Soft Brazil opened its doors with an office in Sao Paolo. The youngest of the branches with only 15 consultants today, they are on the cusp of a major expansion in order to grow the business in the Southern Hemisphere.
In 2016, Hyla Soft company was taken under the umbrella of the sedApta Group, whose goal is to create a leading global group of tech companies that together can really make an impact in advancing the manufacturing industry through smart technologies.
In 2017, Engineering Group, a global leader in digital transformation, became the majority shareholder of Hyla Soft North America. With a consolidated 2016 revenue portfolio of about 934.6 million euros (over $1 billion dollars), and with over 9,000 employees distributed across 50 sites worldwide, including in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Brazil, the Republic of Serbia, and the United States, this shift in ownership is expected to bring significant benefits to both our organization and our customers.
On March 20th, 2018, our company, formerly known as Hyla Soft Inc., officially changed its name to Engineering USA and began operating as the North American division of Engineering Group.
In 2018, our USA team also spearheaded one of 11 global innovation initiatives in the Engineering Group organization called Digital Industry. Join us on a digital transformation journey to make the future of manufacturing possible!
