Hi everyone,
The Chicago Apple User Group is very proud to have Bill Geraci showing us Mac Utility Basics for our January, 2017 meeting! Here is Bill's description:
What is a Utility, exactly? Why should you care? They can tell you a bit about what’s going on whether (some things) are healthy. We’ll look at
Apple’s Disk Utility and Activity Monitor and how a computer guy uses them.
Here is Bill's bio:
Born and raised in Northern California, Bill Geraci moved to Chicago in 1983 where he's been recovering from that event ever since. Within a few years he had dropped out of the University of Chicago as a graduate student, met and married his wife, gone from being a restaurant cook to library supervisor to Computer Guy, tried to help raise three children and become staff at the University of Chicago. In trying to recover from those earlier years, he's gone through being a full-time almost-solely Macintosh consultant to, again, being a staff guy at the University of Chicago. Having given up earlier tries at Classical Greek, Sanskrit, Philosophy and pipe organ performance and maintenance, he's now considered expert presenter on Mac systems, hardware and software (as well as some other stuff). In spite of these mishaps, misdirections and boons, he continues his recoveries and remains hopeful.
