Thanks for changing my life!
Today we had a party on the schedule to celebrate Red Circle's 19th birthday. Yes, Red Circle can finally get into Kams.
Every year around this time, I get a group of friends together for a couple of drinks and a few laughs. More importantly, I bring that group together to say THANK YOU. 19 years is a long time that somehow has gone by in a few blinks of an eye.
While I will miss spending this time with you, I hope that you and your families are healthy and safe as we shelter in place. I look forward to the day when we can all be together again and more importantly when we are all safe from this virus.
Until then, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. There are so many people to say that to.
First to the people that I work with every day or who have spent time working in our office. It is a unique place that might provide too much structure. Thank you for spending the weeks and years you have to help us reach this milestone.
To founders and founding teams we have worked with over the years. Thank you for letting us be a small part of your amazing stories. Over the last 19 years, we have seen napkins turn into companies and those same companies turn into award-winning players in their industries. We have seen some really cool exits and we have seen other “startups” turn 5, 10, and 20 years old. Our mantra of Building Companies by Changing Lives lives in your success.
Changing Lives? A huge thank you goes out to each and every person that let us go on their journey of finding a company that fulfills their "why". From the first phone call, to meeting you in our office (or over a hangout) to you accepting your offer and all of your subsequent success. You are the reason we run to work every day.
To all of my friends and family. I know you from Avenue L, St Francis de Sales, University of Illinois, Acacia, the Birds Nest, and so many other places. 19 years doesn't happen without YOU. All the words of support. Picking me up during those early years when I really needed it. Countless introductions to your network. And a happy hour of three. I really hope that the Red Circle team and I make you proud. (Insert the Oscar moment here where the guy forgot to mention his significant other. Abby, thank you for letting me do my no so normal job in the unique way I like to do it) .
We love all of you and can never say what you mean to us. I hope you are safe and healthy. I look forward to the day we can be together again and I will be quick to raise a glass to you for who you are and the support you have given. Please keep April 2021 open because RC20 is going to be huge.
