Intergenerational Computer Education Program

Intergenerational Computer Education Program The I.C.E. program is devoted to technological education for youth and seniors. In a world that is technologically driven I.C.E.

will provide a structured environment for youth to receive support with life issues through mentoring, career development, community role modeling, self-confidence building, and leadership skills. In turn, as they share computer technology skills with seniors, these seniors become more active and proficient in the information and technical world of today. There is the added benefit of pairing seni

ors with youth for parenthood/fatherhood initiatives, mentoring that demonstrates that violence, truancy, and dropping out of school are not options that prepare one to succeed. The activities of this program are designed to promote advancement in the educational levels for the youth and seniors while using community role models to teach one – reach one!

Today I turned cybersecurity into a game for my students — and it got real fast.

I gave them a list of “recon points”:
• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Social media accounts

Then I introduced them to real-world OSINT tools and gave them one starting point — my business Instagram.

The challenge: first to 100 points wins $20.

At first it was fun… students laughing, guessing, connecting dots.
Then about 20 minutes in, my phone rang.

“Mr. Bass… I got your cell phone number.”

That moment changed everything.

They realized this isn’t just a classroom exercise — this is how easily information can be found in the real world.

Cybersecurity isn’t just about hackers in hoodies.
It’s about awareness, habits, and understanding your digital footprint.

And today, that lesson hit home.

Respect where it’s due 💯

Had the opportunity to tap in with my guy — real energy, real discipline, real grind. You can feel when someone is locked in on their purpose… and he’s definitely on that path.

Rocking the championship belt, but what stood out more than anything was the mindset behind it. That hunger to learn. That willingness to grow.

We all know what that belt represents… so I’m putting it out there 👀
If anybody can help connect with John Cena for some game, some guidance, some words from one of the greats… let’s make it happen.

At Intergenerational Computer Education, it’s bigger than tech.
It’s about exposure. Mentorship. And putting people in position to level up.

Let’s build. 🚀

Listen… these elders did NOT come to play. 😂💻
We pulled up to St. Benedict the African Church for a BYOD session and these seniors walked in with iPads, tablets, phones AND opinions about all of it. 😭
This is Senior Saturdays with IgCE — where we meet you where you are, work with whatever you got, and make sure nobody gets left behind just because tech moves fast.
I genuinely love this work. Every question, every “wait show me that again,” every moment it finally clicks — that’s why I do this.
The digital divide is real. But so are we. 💪🏾

They thought they were just getting on laptops… 👀
Nah, we’re building future cyber defenders.Shoutout to my guy Derrick for letting me come through and do what I do 🙌🏾

Today’s session? Different.
These students came in locked in 🔒

✔️ Configured their laptops
✔️ Built their own websites
✔️ Some already had 2FA enabled (yeah… I almost shed a tear 🥲)

Listen… when students are already thinking about security like that??
Yeah… this class about to go CRAZY.

We’re not just teaching tech…
We’re teaching discipline, ownership, and how to move smart in a digital world.

Because out here… getting hacked ain’t just a meme 😅

Proud of this group already. This is just the beginning.

This is how you end a year with purpose.

Our students wrapped up their program by presenting what they learned from conducting CISA scans, explaining vulnerabilities, and talking through remediation and they did it in front of a real industry leader.

We were honored to have CISO Marcus Johnston join us not just as a judge, but as a mentor. Sitting with the students, answering questions, and giving them a real look into what a day in the life of a CISO looks like.

Moments like this remind us why we do the work.
Thank you, Marcus, for showing up for our students.
We can’t wait to build on this momentum next year.

From the West Side of Chicago ➡️ to the Sears Tower 🏙️

This week, I had the honor of speaking to a room full of cybersecurity leaders at the CISO Leadership Exchange. Not only did they hear our story they felt it.

The mission of Intergenerational Computer Education is simple: connect generations through tech, opportunity, and access. We’re helping students find careers and seniors stay protected and yesterday, we got to share that with the city.

Thank you to for having me. 💙

When the WiFi dies, we rise. 😎💻
There’s a dead zone at the school entrance — but since I’m IT for the school… that means my students are too!

We grabbed our tools, tracked the weakest signal spots, and installed a new access point. Teamwork, problem-solving, and a serious WiFi glow-up 💪📶
