Our long-time clients at NEHA (National Environmental Health Association) called upon us to design their latest publication, the first comprehensive national guide tailored to assist local environmental public health departments in determining their workforce needs and advocating for adequate support. Covering areas from food safety to emergency preparedness, it highlights the 11 essential environmental public health programs vital for safeguarding community well-being.

The American Hospital Association’s hashtag campaign highlights the tireless work and commitment of various people in hospital and health systems. Forever changed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this workforce continues to strive to give the best care to their patients, in the best of times and in the worst of times.

We were asked to create a logo for the campaign that would tell the story that hospitals are about people — those caring and those being cared for.

Each year, we head up the layout of Executive Dialog reports summing up the discussions held at the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD)'s Connections conference. Using a bright color palette, visual wayfinding via labels and careful use of color, we organized the information in the reports to be easy to follow and digest.

Our friends at NEHA — the National Environmental Health Association — asked us to head up the design of their Wildfire Response Guide, which they have developed as a resource for environmental public health professionals responding to a wildfire as part of an immediate response or recovery process. The guide provides information needed in the event of a wildfire within a jurisdiction, with potential considerations and roles for environmental public health professionals, and outlines steps that can be taken before, during, and after a wildfire event.

For the design of the materials for the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL)'s annual conference in Anaheim (home of Disney) this year, we carried the bright, explosive (fireworks!) artwork and branding throughout the pieces, creating a visual journey through the conference information and schedules. We designed the pages and pieces to work visually as a cohesive whole but to also be delighting to flip through, with shifts in color, small moments of delight via graphics and their placement, and bright photography.

Over the last several years, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) has set out to strengthen diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) within the organization and the field of nursing leadership. They are now rolling out phase one of the AONL Guiding Principles: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Toolkit, a resource that will assist nurse leaders in implementing the four main DEIB guiding principles (role of leader, practice environments, partnerships and research and technology) with practical action steps.

For the design of the toolkit, we created a layout that holds this important information in an organized framework, highlighting the principles and clearly delineating the action steps, while remaining faithful to AONL’s branding.

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is a professional association that supports the advancement of environmental health professionals for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all. In addition to maintaining high standards of practice and testing for their credentialing programs, they provide training and resources for continuing education through courses and textbooks, hosting an annual conference, fostering networking and career growth, and publishing the peer-reviewed Journal of Environmental Health (another project of ours!). We’ve been lucky to have them as clients for over 20 years now.

The folks at NEHA asked us to kick off their brand new branding with a series of brochures and advertisements for print and for web. More new pieces to come — stay tuned!

Our hearts are broken over the loss of the beloved Lin Brehmer, everyone's best friend in the whole world. Rest easy, Lin. 💔

The beloved host died Sunday morning, more than six months after taking a leave of absence for chemotherapy to fight prostate cancer.
