Fraud rarely happens in isolation. It happens when pressure meets opportunity.

And right now, the risk is very real. According to the 2026 AFP Payments Fraud and Control Survey, 76% of organizations experienced attempted or actual payments fraud in 2025.

The Fraud Triangle explains why fraud becomes more likely when three factors are present:
🔺 Pressure
🔺 Rationalization (a way to justify the behavior)
🔺 Opportunity

You can't control every source of pressure.

But you can reduce opportunity.
âś” Keep approvals in-system
âś” Verify changes
âś” Reduce workarounds

Strong controls don't slow you down. They help prevent issues before they start.

What does getting time back actually look like in finance?

It is easy to say automation creates more time for “strategic work.” But what does that really mean day to day? For OrthoIllinois, using onPhase meant creating more time to move beyond manual data entry and having more time to dig into what is behind the numbers.
- What are those numbers telling us?
- Where are we seeing trends?
- What deserves a closer look?

When manual work takes less time, teams gain more space for analysis, insight, and the kind of work that helps finance move from processing information to using it.

One of the most common ways to expose AP bottlenecks?
Having someone go out of office.

Suddenly vendors are calling for updates, approvals are sitting untouched, and invoice questions start bouncing around with no clear owner.

Billy Szala from shared this exact challenge during our recent dealership finance discussion and what his team found on the other side of it.

Once they moved away from single-inbox routing and built shared visibility into the process, they gained something most AP teams don't have: timestamps at every step. Now they can see exactly how long each part of the process takes and where the slowdowns actually live.

The dealerships staying ahead aren't just fixing who gets the email. They're building AP processes with the data to prove it's working.

That’s a wrap on Transform, our customer-dedicated roadshow!! Over two packed days in Fort Worth, we listened, learned, and spent time where it matters most: with our customers.

From 1:1 meetings and trainings to keynote sessions, customer panels, interactive demos, and candid Q&A, this event was all about creating space for real conversation and shared momentum with our Procede Software customers.

What stood out most was the spirit in the room: a true partnership built around customer needs, customer outcomes, and the future we’re shaping together. This is exactly what Transform is meant to be.

A huge thank you to our partners at Bottomline for joining us. And a special thank you to Larry Kettler and Eric Fortin for being part of the experience.

Can't wait to do it all over again. Our next Transform Roadshow is coming this November to Florida for the broader onPhase customer community. Stay tuned - registration opening soon!

When AP lives in paper and email, there’s no clear view of what’s out there.

That’s when things get missed, delays happen, and duplicate work start to show up.

In our recent panel, Shifting Gears: Leading Change in Dealership Financial Operations, Daniel Bilson, CFO at Roberts Truck Center, shares what that looked like before automation and why visibility changed everything. → https://www.onphase.com/events/shifting-gears-leading-change-in-dealership-financial-operations

Change is constant in AP. New problems, new processes, more to keep up with.

One moment from our recent panel stuck with us: Ashley Felts on why embracing that change is what actually helps you move forward.

Because the real shift isn't just doing more. It's finally being able to see what's happening across your process. Automation doesn't just help you scale. It surfaces the data and gaps you can't catch in a manual environment.

Ask most AP teams where an invoice is in the process. The answer is usually: “Let me check.”

Check email. Check a spreadsheet. Check with the approver.

That’s exactly the problem with manual AP processes. Teams don’t have full visibility, and everything is tough to track.

When invoice workflows are automated, finance teams don’t have to hunt for answers. They can see the entire process in real time.

Suppliers aren’t just adapting to digital transformation, they’re starting to expect it.

The same ease, speed, and visibility buyers rely on is now the baseline. Faster payments, clearer timelines, and more flexibility aren’t differentiators anymore, they’re expected.

And that shift doesn’t stop at payments. It’s raising the bar for AP. As supplier expectations grow, AP teams are being pushed to deliver more seamless, predictable, and transparent experiences across the entire invoice-to-pay process.

This isn’t just about new payment methods. It’s about meeting a new standard.

Learn how teams are addressing these growing expectations in our recent State of Finance webinar → https://www.onphase.com/events/state-of-finance-2026-expert-perspectives-on-whats-changing-and-why

Most ERP transformations don't fail at go-live.

They struggle in the months after, when everyone realizes the system changed, but the actual work didn't.

Old approval paths. Spreadsheet workarounds. Reporting that nobody fully trusts. Ownership gaps that were never resolved. These don't disappear when you flip the switch. They just follow you into the new platform.

Gartner says more than 70% of ERP implementations fail to fully meet their original business case. That's not a tech problem. That's a leadership and design problem.

The CFOs getting this right aren't just managing the project. They're owning what surrounds it.

In this blog, Beyond Go-Live: How CFOs Drive ERP Transformations That Last, we break down what that looks like in practice:https://www.onphase.com/blog/beyond-go-live-how-cfos-drive-erp-transformations-that-last
