I was honored to design a sub-identity for The City Mission: their "Hope Partner" donor program. This sub-brand would recognize and inspire recurring donors who support the mission through a monthly subscription model. The goal: develop a logo that honored their generosity, reflected the organization’s values, and encouraged others to join the cause. If you are looking for an amazing nonprofit in Cleveland to support, you should definitely go check them out!

Design Brief:
· Create a hopeful and inspiring identity that appeals to a younger, modern audience.
· Ensure the sub-brand feels visually connected to The City Mission’s current branding.
· Develop a digital-first design suitable for web, email, and social media.
· Incorporate symbols of partnership, transformation, and escape from poverty.
· Favor a serif font that exudes warmth and trustworthiness.

Final Design Solution:
The chosen mark features a dove taking flight, subtly derived from the shape of an outstretched hand. The dove faces left—opposite the direction of English reading—symbolizing the breaking away from crisis and poverty. The design balances literal symbolism and abstract form, creating a clean, versatile icon for digital and print applications.
The main typeface for “Hope” is a soft and inviting serif font symbolizing friendliness and hope while the typeface for “Partner” is modern sans serif font as a nod to the younger generation’s design trends.

(Note: the logo design featured here differs slightly from the final design chosen by the client. All logos used with permission.)

The Fortify Foundation — Logo Design
I was asked to design a logo for a new foundation called "The Fortify Foundation" with a broad mission statement: "Supporting individuals who continue to pursue their goals in spite of life's challenges." They have a heart for people and particularly impoverished populations, and they seek to provide an all-encompassing and holistic approach to helping those populations. The types of support they plan to offer include academic support, career help, family structure counseling, mental health, financial literacy, and more. Not only will provide direct support to individuals in need but they also hope to provide financial support to local nonprofits that share their goals and values.
The challenge was to produce something that could be both simple and yet encompass everything they aim to achieve. The two general concepts I played with were 1) the idea of a building or tower, to represent the idea of fortifying or building something solid and valuable. And 2) holding hands, to represent the fact that all charitable work has to do with people and helping people. At the same time, I tried to incorporate two "F"s into the design. The final design was two Fs, mirrored vertical and overlaid on top of each other to represent two hands holding each other — one person helping up another person.
Navy blue was chosen to represent stability, calmness, and life-giving water and the wordmark has the words stacked in such a way so as to reflect a building being built, almost like a pyramid being constructed.

A few years ago, I was asked to create a visual identity for one of Baldwin Wallace University's newest divisions: the Division of Community Learning. It was a large project and I kept putting off posting the project because I knew it would be difficult to document everything. This division would "house" a number of other current programs and centers, all focused on community outreach. Some of these programs included Community Arts School, Center for Coaching Excellence, a community recreation program, a STEM program, and more.
For the creation of the logo, I began with three concepts: one focused on community, one focused on curiosity, and the last one more of a lettermark while incorporating a small figure into the design. After choosing the lettermark concept I played with a variety of playful to modern tones as well as lightbulb / head shapes.
After that, the branding guidelines for Baldwin Wallace University had to be taken into consideration. It turns out that they have typographical hierarchy and font guidelines for all official BW divisions. Combining those specifications and along with their tagline, "INSPIRING UNENDING CURIOSITY," the final version of the logo was finally developed.
