The final Plein Air Meetup has concluded this afternoon after a summer full of fun gatherings. Today’s meetup was at the Old Clinton Burying Ground, the final resting place of Clinton’s earliest community members and nearly 50 Revolutionary War soldiers. With its historic headstones, mature trees, and quiet atmosphere, these grounds provided the perfect Plein Air setting.

While our meetups will be on hold until the spring, continues workshops and events will take place in the Studios so stay tuned!

I spent about 2 hours working on this little gouache piece after a brief hiatus from painting, and it was great to get back into it on such a beautiful fall day.

My favorite people, my favorite ADK escape, and my favorite thing to do. A few precious days away calmed the chaos we’re feeling as summer winds down and we start prepping for fall and holiday in the shop.

I’m so glad we got to share this neck of the woods with my family, we tried to fit in so many favorites in between my painting and events at View, so fun!

I wait all year for the Plein Air Paint Out, and I learn so much each year I return. Can’t wait for next time!

I’ve been enjoying a few days away for View’s Plein Air Paint Out, one of my favorite events of the year! This scene was captured on a bridge leading to The Sagamore, with finishing touches at a friend’s place. This little porch is the best place to slow down and enjoy working on a piece. I started on Wednesday afternoon, and was able to submit it last night for Saturday’s auction. Come join us this evening for a fun event, I can’t wait to see everyone’s work!

Painting today in beautiful Grand Teton National Park. My husband had me up early to catch the sunrise, and it did not disappoint one bit. We’ve seen incredible views, tons of wildlife, and I’m painting whenever I get the chance. More to come, soon.

"Grey Lady Day" found a new home at my recent reception with fellow Nantucket/Cape loving friends. I’ve rounded this little lighthouse for so many years, always with a penny in hand. Brant Point means so much to so many people, and I loved trying to capture it. Starting as Plein air and finishing up in the studio, it was truly enjoyable to watch these big clouds come to life.

On view at the Kirkland Town Library through June 30. While this piece is sold, I have a few variations in progress. ⚓️ 🌊

"To the Top" – a painting inspired by my friend ’s beautiful photograph of her son. Throughout this collection, I dove deep into so many greens, finding purples and yellows, crimsons and blues. After only painting Adirondack rocks in Plein air, I loved taking the time to sit with them and develop the colors and textures that make up the stone.

Thank you so much Sierra for the inspiration and for becoming a collector, it means the world to me and I’m so grateful.

"Sankaty Sunset" – this oil painting from my recent collection, Head in the Clouds, captured an incredible sunset at one of my favorite places, Sankaty Head Lighthouse. While I always love creating little paintings and thumbnails during our visits, I knew this sunset had to be one that made it out of my sketchbook. At 24”x36”, it’s my largest painting and I poured countless hours into these grand clouds.

Available at the Kirkland Town Library through June 30, and then moving to The Studios at West Park Row.
